I had Restylane Refyne fillers a few hours ago. I have a bad headache (not related I don’t think). Tylenol isn’t working and normally I would take Excedrin Migraine but know I shouldn’t take NSAIDs yet. Is Maxalt okay?
Answer: Can I take Maxalt after Restylane fillers or will that have any negative effect? Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Maxalt should not impact your Refyne result in any way. Go ahead and treat your headache as you normally would. Hope this helps.

Answer: Can I take Maxalt after Restylane fillers or will that have any negative effects on bruising/swelling/anything else? Maxalt (rizatriptan) is a medication commonly used to treat migraine headaches by narrowing blood vessels in the brain and reducing substances that trigger nausea, sensitivity to light, and other migraine symptoms. It belongs to a class of medications called triptans. While there isn't a direct contraindication between taking Maxalt and having Restylane fillers, it's essential to consider potential interactions and effects that may occur. Here are some points to consider:1. Bruising and swelling: Restylane fillers can cause temporary bruising and swelling at the injection site. Maxalt, being a vasoconstrictor, may potentially exacerbate these effects due to its action of narrowing blood vessels. Therefore, taking Maxalt after Restylane injections could potentially increase the risk of bruising and swelling.2. Increased risk of adverse effects: Combining Maxalt with Restylane fillers may increase the risk of adverse effects or complications. Although there isn't significant research on the interaction between these two treatments, it's essential to be cautious, especially if you have a history of sensitivity or reactions to medications or fillers.3. Consultation with healthcare provider: Before taking Maxalt after Restylane fillers or vice versa, it's advisable to consult with your healthcare provider, particularly your prescribing physician or the healthcare professional who administered the Restylane injections. They can provide guidance based on your medical history, current medications, and individual risk factors.4. Alternative treatments for migraine: If you're concerned about potential interactions between Maxalt and Restylane fillers, or if you've experienced adverse effects in the past, you may consider alternative treatments for managing migraine headaches. Your healthcare provider can discuss other medication options or non-pharmacological approaches that may be suitable for you.Overall, it's crucial to communicate openly with your healthcare providers about any medications, treatments, or procedures you're considering or have undergone to ensure your safety and well-being.

Answer: Maxalt Before Botox Maxalt (the brand name for Rizatriptan) is a medication that is used to abort (or stop) Migraine headaches after they have started. It increases the effect of Serotonin by acting like Serotonin. The primary effect is to decrease the size of blood vessels, which can sometimes cause an increase in blood pressure. However, this medication is not considered a blood thinner and does not increase bleeding. Therefore, it is not a contraindication for use in a patient that is scheduled to have Botox injections. It is important to note that the Botox treatment itself can also help to treat the headache, but it will take several days to take effect.

Answer: Taking pain-relievers after filler injections. There is no issue with taking a pain reliever after botulinum or filler injections. Once it has been placed it should not rebleed. Any bruising occurred at the time of injection. Maxalt can raise your blood pressure some, but again should not be an issue. Cool compresses and keeping your head elevated a few hours or the first night if you are concerned about swelling are helpful. Hope you feel better and best regards.
