Can barely detect implant on the right side 11 years after breast augmentation - is this normal?

Question

hello! i had my breast augmented about 11 years ago. silicone, 420cc, incision is through my nipples. my left boob feels like a size larger than my right. i can barely detect my implant on the right, as it feels extremely natural compared to the left. is this normal? and should i be worried? my doctor is in a diff state, so i cant get examed by him anytime soon. can i go to my pcp and request a mri or ultrasound? any tips/advice is appreciated!! thx all

Asymmetry of the breasts is common.  You may be noticing differences due to aging or potentially weight changes.  If you are noticing changes to your breasts without obvious reason it is best to have an exam to rule out concerns.  If you are not able to visit with your surgeon you may be able to visit with another board certified plastic surgeon near you.  If that is not possible you can contact the provider you see for your breast health.

There are a number of possibilities that could explain the changes you are seeing. The two most significant would be implant failure/rupture or capsular contractures. It could also be simply normal changes to your breasts that have occurred over the past eleven years. A visit to your surgeon or another board certified plastic surgeon in your area would be suggested.
