I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Widenhouse in January of 2021. Although the price was amazing, I was really disappointed in my experience with the doctor, staff and my results. I debated for a long time about writing a review, but now that I am 4 years post-op and have learned more about other peoples experience with other doctors, I feel compelled to share my story. Before my surgery, Widenhouse was very insistent in me not being set on a specific CC size or bra size. He instead asked me to provide pictures of the look I was aiming for as well as what I would consider "too large". I am 5 foot 5 inches tall and at the time was 112 pounds, so I have a "ballerina" build. I really wanted to look as close to natural as possible, so my goal was to only reach a C cup, no larger. I was very clear I wanted 300cc's with 350 cc's as the MAX. Widenhouse assured me he would go with the cc size that he felt looked best on me based on what I had provided and asked me to trust him. The day of the surgery, I arrived to my appointment on time but the staff was running behind. I waited 2 hours before they brought be back to get started. The staff was clearly stressed out from their busy day and as a result, they were very rude to me and clearly annoyed with me despite my patients and kindness. After the surgery I was wheeled out to my car before I was even fully conscious. I did not "come to" until I was almost home, which was 45 minutes away in James Island. They were incredibly unprofessional with this process and displayed a clear lack of empathy for me the entire day of the surgery. The day after the surgery is when I learned they completely ignored my request for the size of breasts I wanted by giving me 400 cc's. When I had my first follow up appointment, I cried to the nurse that they went too large and she shut me down hard and insisted they didn't, that I was just swollen. Here I am, 4 years later, and I am still upset about the size they gave me. I am sitting at a bra size of 30DD and it looks ridiculous on my tiny frame. I dislike the outcome so much that I am now planning to get them redone this spring by a different doctor outside of Atlanta. If I could go back in time, I would never have gone with this clinic. Yes I am disappointed in the size they gave me, but the way they treated me was absolutely unnecessary and down right cruel. This place is only interested in money and cranking out as many people/surgeries as possible and will completely disregard the patients wants. I'm thankful to read other people have had great experiences with this place, but I personally would recommend you bring your money elsewhere.
My experience with Dr Widenhouse was great!! I am so satisfied with my results. I never thought I would go through with this procedure but I am so happy I did. The process starts out very scary after surgery because of the swelling but be patient and follow the drs orders.
I am super happy with my results so far!! I'm only 4 days post op and have a lot of healing to do. Had some blood pressure issues the first night but feeling better now. I can't wait for the end results
I'm 37 years old and I've had three girls. I had excessive skin and wanted to get rid of the stomach fat. I've tried working out and still couldn't get rid of the fat. So my surgeon was Port City Plastic Surgeons in Charleston,SC Dr. Widenhouse. The staff and customer service was awesome. I've had a great experience so far. Updated on 26 Jul 2020: I feel great.i have a little soreness when picking up my heavy baby but moving around great. No longer on pain pills either. Still have some swelling Updated on 28 Jul 2020: The Dr. stated everything looked good today. The swelling would go down as the months pass. Also I could stop wearing the binder to let some air get to the incision to make sure any moisture that caused the skin to peel could dry out also. Also the try massaging the incision if it felt poked out and to use silicone gel scar tape to help as well.
I've wanted a BA for many years but could never afford it. I was to the point that I hated my body. I was in the military and went through a lot of weight fluctuation which unfortunately took a lot of fullness out of my natural breast. I was wearing a B-C bra and wanted to get to a nice full D to DD. I had my surgery today and I love them already. Not a ton of pain post op wise and I got exactly what I was hoping for. Dr. Widenhouse was very relaxed which helped me relax. During the consult, he answered all of my questions and told me things I didn't know to ask about. His entire staff is absolutely lovely and made me feel so comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Widenhouse if you're looking at a BA. I seriously can not wait for them to settle and fluff Updated on 12 Dec 2019: Not having a ton of pain today. It’s about a 6/10 on the pain scale and the pain meds and muscle relaxers help a lot. I’ve been icing every 2 hours for 15 minutes. I had my follow up today and they said everything is looking great. My right breast is already starting to settle. I’m still super happy with how they are healing Updated on 13 Dec 2019: Definitely feeling tight today. Not in a ton of pain. I have been doing my stretches and they are still settling on track! I still love them so much and can’t wait to see them once they are done settling! I finally was allowed to shower today too and man was that great Updated on 15 Dec 2019: Just here to leave another update! At this point I have little to no pain! Just pressure and tightness on my chest but not in a painful way! I am able to lift my arms and do normal things around my house, which is great! My breasts are still a little bit high and firm, but they settle and soften more everyday. I love them so much and can’t wait for them to be healed! Updated on 15 Dec 2019: These are my preOp photos. They were taken the morning of my surgery 12/11. I was wearing a 34B at the time. Tattoos were blacked out for privacy Updated on 15 Dec 2019: Here are the photos I have taken post op. Still high and a little swollen but they are amazing 325cc moderate profile under the muscle smooth round mentor implants Updated on 29 Dec 2019: So I have to say this healing has been a breeze. I absolutely love the way they are turning out! I have my 3 week follow up tomorrow with my ps. I’m already back to work (and I have a physically demanding job) and I’m having minimal discomfort. They feel so natural and are looking better every day.
Doctor Widenhouse and His Staff are Wonderful People !! They Made My Journey So Pleasant . And Not To Mention The Doctor Called Me The Night Of My Surgery To Check On Me . And My Breast Came Out Wonderful
Wonderful! Dr. Widenhouse and his staff were attentive, pleasant and professional. Scheduling was simple. Office and waiting area were clean and furnished nicely. My appointments were on-time. Questions were answered with clearly, explained advice. I would recommend this practice to everyone.
Loved how informative Dr. Widenhouse was in regards to the procedure (tummy tuck). I had the procedure on Tuesday and as of today I have little to zero pain ad today is only Thursday. So far I'm pleased with my results and will be having additional procedures done in two weeks.
I never really ever felt comfortable. I’ve always just dressed a certain way to make myself feel better. I would wear very padded bras to look bigger than what I was so that I could fill out my shirt. I would have to buy my bras in the juniors section and wear junior shirts to fit better. I always felt like my top half was missing something. Updated on 9 Sep 2018: So I remember talking to my Dr right before and the anesthesiologist in the patient room about last minute things. I remember showing Dr. my wish boobs and both specialists were very calm and best side manner very friendly! Both reassured me I would be ok. So physicians assistant guided me to the surgery room and the anesthesiologist was prepping my meds. Ok I woke up fine and walked myself to the car where my husband was there with kids. (I had help really) but it was a blur. Then on my ride home I felt lots of burning and pain!! But manageable! The next day: post opt lots of tightness and pain!!!!! Uncomfortable ???? for sure ... I was starting to regret!! Frankenboobs!!! Soongebobsquareboob!! See pics!!!
I am 26 years old with one child. I’ve always wanted a breast reduction so when I found out that insurance would pay for it I signed up for it. As of today I am really happy with my results. I will say that you can definitely tell that two different people stitched me back up because one did a heck of a better job than the other. I went from a saggy night traveling DD to a perky jiggly C! SUPER happy! My biggest concern was how I was going to care for my son during recovery but I was able to pick him up with caution and ease the very same day of surgery. I showered and applied Vaseline every night. My t junction became an issue at week 2 and got worse (to me) at week 3. My PS saw me every week and always did that I was fine and my t junction wound was actually ok. I started a wet to dry dressing on week 4
Breast implant size is a personal decision. Discuss your goals with your plastic surgeon and ask if they have sizers you can try on. Sizers are a good tool to help you determine what size implants are best for you. Best of luck!
Thanks for your question. There should be no issue regarding HPV; however, please discuss the semaglutide use with your plastic surgeon. Most surgeons require a patient to be off of semaglutides for a least two to four weeks prior to having a cosmetic procedure. This is something you definitely need to talk about before scheduling. Best of luck!
Thanks for your question. It's difficult to say without more information and an exam, but it looks like one breast may have settled a little lower than the other. This would contribute to your breasts appearing uneven. If you are not pleased with the explanation provided by your plastic surgeon, I would suggest the you get a second opinion from another plastic surgeon in your area. Best of luck!
It is certainly understandable why you would not want to have before/after photos taken. Most plastic surgeons require photos for their patient's medical chart. Perhaps you can express your concern to the office personnel so they can speak with the doctor before your consultation. The the PS can decide if he/she is willing to forego photos. Best of luck! You can have your implants removed as soon as you would like. However, I would encourage you to wait until you are fully recovered and your implants have settled into place. Often patients who are unhappy initially end up being pleased with the results after a couple of months. Best of luck! Port City Plastic Surgery
