I am very sorry to see that this has happened to you. The result that you have, as you probably figured out, is related to the quantity and location of the Botox injection you received around the mouth. Fortunately, the results of your Botox are not permanent and you will start to see motion again over the next 6 weeks and complete resolution by 3-4 month. There are no exercises to promote reversal of the effect - only time. As a question, as I am just curious, did you receive Botox for a chemical brow lift as well? For future injections I would recommend treatment by a board certified surgeon who specializes in the treatment of the face.Be healthy and be well,James M. Ridgway, MD, FACS
Botox treatments around the mouth must be injected conservatively if not it is possibly to loose the ability to pronounce certain words or even smile like in your case. Im guessing you were over treated in this area. There is nothing you can do at this point but let the botox wear off approximately 3 months . Best of Luck
Thank you for yourquestion and pictures. If you have a headache, don't take the whole bottle of aspirin. What you are describing seems unusual. It depends on how much Botox was actually injected. Botox around the mouth must be in very small doses. The good news, is that it will wear off typically in about 3 months. To be sure, return to see your injector or seetwo or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for a full andcomplete evaluation.I hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately no exercises will ameliorate your complaints at this time. It is a result of the amount and location of the BoTox injected. You will have to wait until it fully wears off (typically lasts 3 months), but will gradually lessen at 6-10 weeks. Best wishes!
There is nothing you can do but wait 3-4 months for the Botox to reverse. It will get slightly better after 2-3 weeks however. I wish you the best of luck. Best, Dr. Emer.
This is an unusual complication of botox. It will wear off and it will improve over the coming weeks although it may take 4-6 months for the full effects to wear off.I would make sure you find out what you have had injected and what dose which should be defined in units. It is important that if you have botox again that you know the doses. It may be that you only ned very small doses.Sorry to hear you have had this issue from botox. It is rare and its effects will wear off.
The good news is that the effect of Botox around the mouth usually doesn't last as long as everywhere else. you should regain some expression after 4 to 6 weeks. you can try to move your mouth (smile, purse lips etc) to speed up recovery. It seems, per your history, that you got injected with too many units
Dear Lisa,Once you've been injected with Botox, and it's taken effect, you need to be patient and allow it to wear out.You will notice over the next several weeks that you will regain movement to your lip corners.Botox typically lasts 3-4 months, but as time goes by, you will notice the effect fading gradually. There aren't truly any form of mouth exercises that will speed up the dissipation process.Regards,Dr. Manolis
Unfortunately with Botox around the mouth even a unit or two difference can make a big impact. There aren't exercises that you can do. You will need to wait for the Botox to wear off and the muscles to begin reworking. Often this happens within a few weeks. I have seen much worse - if people are overinjected in this area they can look like they've had stroke even. It can be terrible when overdone. I'm sorry for what you are going through, but just know it will get better with time. Botox injections in the forehead can help to provide a chemical brow lift and can help eliminate forehead creases. The depth of injection is more superficial than the central glabellar area. The technique for brow injection differs between men and women and differ depending on the natural shape...
Botox is not the ideal treatment for the lines on the chest. Sculptra increases collagen and repairs elasticity in the skin. This would most likely help as well as pixel treatments to stimulate superficial collagen and emprove the texture.
Dear Erin White, The injection of Botox® affects the muscles of facial animation. There are many animation muscles around the eyes. From your clinical history, it may be that the Botox® has weakened the specific eye muscles that are able to squeeze fluid out from under the eyelid. When t...
