Depending where you received the Botox, these lines may appear. Schedule a consult with your injector and discuss your options. You can have these lines injected with a small amount of Botox. Wait 2 weeks post treatment. All the Best.
Botox injections in the forehead can help to provide a chemical brow lift and can help eliminate forehead creases. The depth of injection is more superficial than the central glabellar area. The technique for brow injection differs between men and women and differ depending on the natural shape of the brow. The brow has muscles which elevate and muscles that depress, so a balance of distribution of Botox will help deliver a natural result. The lines that have "come-up" have always been there, but because Botox has eliminated the central elevation these muscles are hyper-active. This can be diminished by small superficial injections into the area of creases laterally and it usually represents orbicularis and frontalis activity. This will provide a more natural and gradual arch to your brow.
It is very important to take some time with your physician before receiving Botox injections and for that matter before undergoing any procedure. A complete examination along with pretreatment (and later follow up) photographs and a full discussion of your goals, likely outcomes and expectations is essential to a successful result. The three most common areas treated in the forehead area are the vertical glabellar frown lines, the crows feet lines and the horizontal frontalis lines. Some combination of one or more areas may be the best for you. Planning and individualizing treatment is important.Sometimes you see lines after treatment that you didn't see before because surrounding treated areas are smoother. In your photo if in fact the horizontal frontalis eyebrow elevator lines were not present it may be that the muscle balance is favoring drooping of your eyebrow. Therefore your frontalis muscle is responding by activating to elevate your eyebrow and thus the lines are more apparent. Discuss your results with your physician in follow as touch up adjustments can me made now and/or in anticipation of your next treatment.
Those lines that have appeared above your eyebrow are from a partially under-treated frontalis muscle. This is not uncommon when the injections are kept high above the brow, so not to cause them to droop. The solution is simple: sprinkling a little extra Botox in the area of those wrinkles will help to soften them. This is optimally done at least 2 weeks after the initial treatment, so the full effect of the initial treatment is apparent.
This is a common side effect of attempting to limit over treatment of the forehead, or can also occur when trying to raise the tail of the eyebrows with a little botox. Placing 2-3 units right under the skin in that area can limit the creasing and should not run the risk of dropping the brow. Best of luck in achieving your desired result!
I'm unsure when you had the initial Botox done, but I would recommend that you wait 10 days after the initial treatment and then return to your injector if you still have these lines. They have to do with the frontalis muscle, and I have seen many times where people will have these at onset, and then they resolve by the 10th day. So wait before reinjecting them so it's not overdone, or it could drop the brow.
