There is no ligament to release, but liposuction of the upper abdomen might give you more relaxed skin in that area.

Hi, Pioneering9126! Thank you for your question and photos.
It is common to have stretching feeling around belly button after tummy tuck surgery. Usually it recuires time for tissues to settle and start feeling comfortable. 7 months is still early, at least one year after we evaluate for any tissue retractions and plan to release them. So I would recommend you to da a massage with an herbal oil and not worry.

An in person examination is needed to determine what may be causing the tension you are experiencing. There is no ligament involved with regard to the umbilicus. I encourage you to visit with your surgeon for an evaluation.

Your umbilicus is not bad, but does angle upwards. If this really bothers you, a revision umbilicoplasty may be performed to revise the scar and open more of the top portion.
There is no “ligament” involved with the umbilicus or an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck TT). During the TT, the midline abdominal tissue (muscles) are tightened. This might be the tightness that you describe. If painful, it may be released and re-sutured.

The belly button itself does not move during a tummy tuck procedure. The skin around it is cut and the skin laxity is eliminated and the skin of the abdomen is pulled down into a new position. The new bellybutton position is marked off and an incision is made and the bellybutton is pulled through the scan and sushi in place. During the entire time the belly button remains attached to the muscle wall in its exact same location. The decision of where to make the skin opening to pull the belly button through should ideally be as close to where the belly button actually sits as possible. if the incision is made on the low side then the bellybutton will have an upwards pull. Most natural belly buttons have some hooding over the belly button and making the incision slightly low mimics this better than the other way around.
Sometimes it’s possible to make minor revisions regarding how the bellybutton looks and it’s position.Doing so can add scars in the area.
There’s no ligaments that can be pulled or injured around the bellybutton.
I suggest you follow up with your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns with him or her.
