Thank you for your question. As far as recovery for a BBL, I generally tell my patients that they may return to work in 10-14 days after a Brazilian butt lift. General swelling may take 6-8 weeks to improve, but the inflammation from the liposuction can last several months. I recommend postponing exercise and sexual activity until after 6 weeks. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting for one month and when sitting they use a BBL pillow or boppy pillow. After one month, I allow my patients to sit regularly although many continue to avoid it for several weeks. Please call a board-certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Take Care, Dr. Moises Salama, board certified plastic surgeon.
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. It typically takes 2 weeks to recover from a 360 Lipo and BBL procedure. It is safe to sit also around the 2 week point. Every surgeon has their own preferences and you should check with your board certified plastic surgeon to help guide you.
Thank you for the question. I usually recommend to my patients to wait at least 1 month to sit down in your butt. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Many of my patients return to work after 7 to 14 days if that work is sedentary or nonstrenuous. A week is probably OK with a conservative buttock augmentation of 600 cc to 800 cc per buttock. If you are going in the 1200 cc to 1800 cc per buttock range, you may need 10 to 14 days. For most patients strenuous activity can be resumed in 6 weeks. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and they will have a very good idea of their final results.
Dear ncrk4524,I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
My advice to my fat transfer patients is no sitting for 2 weeks and protected sitting (in a BBL cushion) for another 4 weeks following the first 2. (For a total of 6 weeks)
In my private practice I usually offer a range from 3-6 weeks. With final results at 6 months. Best to purchase a BBL pillow to sit on ASAP after surgery 9+/- $100 on Amazon). Also daily lymphatic massages and external ultrasound treatments are a good idea. Why not ask your scheduled surgery office their recommendations. These are mine that I provide to ALL my surgery patients....
The recovery period for lipo 360/BBL is two weeks as long as there is no cutting. If you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as \o process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully,Arian Mowlavi MD,FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
We ask patients to avoid sitting without a BBL pillow for three weeks after the procedure. Using the BBL pillow patients can sit any time. Most people can go back to no impact daily activities in 5 to 7 days. Some patients can manage this three days after the procedure but but a week is probably reasonable. Some patients have said they prefer to take three weeks off.Our staff when they have surgery with us typically take 1-2 day off work.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Hi and welcome to our forum!Every plastic surgeon has developed this / her own individual postoperative protocol developed over years of experience. In our practice, we recommend being out of bed on the evening of surgery, minimal activity for 1-2 days, shower on day after surgery, no sitting for 2 weeks, gentle sitting with forward leaning on a "butt pillow" for another 2 weeks. Compression garments are worn for a period of 6 weeks to prevent bleeding and to control swelling. It will take 6-12 months for all swelling to subside.Visit a board certified plastic surgeon and ask about their protocol.Best wishes...
