Thank you for your question. As far as recovery for a BBL, I generally tell my patients that they may return to work in 10-14 days after a Brazilian butt lift. General swelling may take 6-8 weeks to improve, but the inflammation from the liposuction can last several months. I recommend postponing exercise and sexual activity until after 6 weeks. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting for one month and when sitting they use a BBL pillow or boppy pillow. After one month, I allow my patients to sit regularly although many continue to avoid it for several weeks. Please call a board-certified plastic surgeon for a consultation. Take Care, Dr. Moises Salama, board certified plastic surgeon.
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. It typically takes 2 weeks to recover from a 360 Lipo and BBL procedure. It is safe to sit also around the 2 week point. Every surgeon has their own preferences and you should check with your board certified plastic surgeon to help guide you.
Thank you for the question. I usually recommend to my patients to wait at least 1 month to sit down in your butt. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Many of my patients return to work after 7 to 14 days if that work is sedentary or nonstrenuous. A week is probably OK with a conservative buttock augmentation of 600 cc to 800 cc per buttock. If you are going in the 1200 cc to 1800 cc per buttock range, you may need 10 to 14 days. For most patients strenuous activity can be resumed in 6 weeks. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off. This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. After 6 weeks the fat has revascularized, and they will have a very good idea of their final results.
Dear ncrk4524,I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
