I am 6 mos post op from lipo 360 bbl. I had a seroma that was drained twice and then it seems to have hardened. I have waited this long, wear my garments and boards, had over 30 professional massages and my stomach still looks like this. I even had been wearing medi lymph pad and mobiderm for fibrosis. What can my options be to get improvement and smoother stomach?
Answer: Post-Liposuction After Care -- Compression, Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Radiofrequency, Cellutone/Zwave, Revision It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. It will take 6 to 12 months to see the final outcome. However, even at this stage, it's clear that you will likely will need a revision procedure -- this is simply not right. I recommend following up with your physician about their suggested after care protocol. I have my patients wear compression for 3 to 6 weeks straight and then overnight for 3 to 6 months after their procedure. I suggest adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding Vanquish for further fat removal; truSculpt iD, Exilis, Forma, and Venus Legacy for additional skin tightening; and Cellutone / ZWave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Ultimately, if you are unhappy with your results, please speak to your physician and ensure that he/she was a full body VASER Hi-Definition liposuction physician with extensive experience in contouring and body shaping -- and not just traditional fat reduction. You can always get a revision procedure by an expert if needed. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: BBL results Dear PeacefulSoul1, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: High definition liposuction revision From the picture you provided there are contour irregularities and poor skin texture. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Problems after liposuction It does not look like you have much subcutaneous fat at all. Was this a second round of Liposuction or was an energy device like VASER used for your procedure? If you developed a seroma it should’ve been drained on a daily basis or as close to that as possible until it did not reform. If not drained continuously the tissue at surfaces would not adhere and a capsule forms creating a chronic seroma. Probably your best option at this point is to cut out all the skin of your lower abdomen and since the problem is not present on your upper abdomen converting this to a full tummy tuck would be the way to go. I don’t think there’s anyway to restore your skin to normal. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
