Thank you for your question. There are a variety of non-surgical treatment options to help you achieve the more feminine V-shaped face you are seeking. Neurotoxins such as Botox can help reduce the wrinkle lines in the upper third of your face and make the appearance of your eyes appear more youthful as well as can be injected in your masseter muscles to help narrow the lower third of your face. Filler injections can be performed to augment the volume in your cheeks and thus promote a V-shaped face. If you have skin laxity issues in the lower third of your face, there are both surgical and non-surgical treatments for improving this problem. Unfortunately it is difficult to make an assessment and recommendations based on photographs alone. I recommend you seek a consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who can perform a thorough exam and discuss with you the best treatment options to meet your goals.

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  If you have masseteric hypertrophy, then botox injections into the masseter can help.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

There are really two ways (nonsurgical) to slim the face or give the illusion of slimming. The first is reducing masseter muscle bulk with Botox or Dysport and the second is widening the midface by injecting a filler such as Restylane Lyft or Sculptra along the cheekbone. I recommend you see an experienced aesthetic physician for an in person consultation and to come up with an appropriate treatment plan for your specific concerns. 

If your jawline is wide because of a thick master muscle then perhaps using botox may help to soften it. Hard to say from the photo.

If you are trying to narrow the appearance of your jaw without surgery, there are really only two possible options. Injecting Botox into the masseter muscle (muscle on the side of the jaw) which will weaken it and make it shrink. This will make the side of the jaw towards the back look narrower. The other option is to widen the cheek bone with a filler; this will not actually narrow the jaw, but will simply make the jaw look narrower relative to the face. Whether or not either of these options is suitable for you, can really only be decided after you have had a full consultation and discussion with a plastic surgeon experienced in assessing and treating facial proportions and balance. At our office we use computer imaging to help patients visualize these changes, and draw on my experience as both a dual board certified oral and maxillofacial (jaw ) surgeon, and plastic surgeon to help patients make these decisions.

Hi D3D4, I wish you had taken more photos. It is difficult to judge from one picture alone whether the shape of your jaw is due to bone or to masseter muscle hypertrophy. If it is due to the bone, Botox won't help. I also commend you for not taking the option of bone surgery.The masseters are very strong muscles and the dosage would be between 15-25 units per side (injected in 5-6 sites per side). If your prominent jaw is due to hypertropy, then Botox would certainly help. Duration is variable and depends on how strong your masseters are, your metabolism and activity (of the jaw).Best regards, Justin Harper, M.D.
