If you are the PA trying to get a med spa started, you will have to get an MD to work with you.
lexmonay. In NY state Anyone can own a Medical Spa, however administration of Botox and fillers and other invasive or non-invasive procedures by a PA must be supervised by an MD, who must be present on site when procedures are performed. Better and safer to have your Botox or fillers performed by a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist. Good luck!
Every state has different laws regulating who can provide oversite for a medical spa. It is possible that a PA may be able to oversee these treatments. In NY, a PA must have a physician providing oversite, so it is unlikely that they can be the sole person giving oversite to a medical spa.
The ownership of the spa in New York is secondary to the presence and supervision of a physician when injections are being administered. Double check the licensure requirements of the state if you are considering going into any business venture of this nature. Best of luck to you.
Although regulations re medspas vary from state to state nowhere is a PA allowed to practice any type of medicine without a physician present
in NY, anyone can own a spa but treatments such as Botox or fillers, must be administered under the supervision of a licensed physician.
It depends on laws governing such in your state. All states have different regulations on this. jlr
The answer is no, not in any state. A PA cannot practice indepently of an M.D.. Also, the various laser companies, medical device companies, injectable suppliers etc... will only sell to licensed physicians.Lisa Vuich, MD

Hi,I am not aware of any contraindications for having BOTOX and taking antibiotics at the same time. You should not experience any problems.
As we age, bone mass is lost from the facial skeleton. I don't believe there is a contribution to bone loss from the use of Botox. In our Seattle practice, we use Botox to reduce the bulk of the masseter muscle and this reduces bi-mandibular facial width. But this is not a bone-loss effect.
There is no contraindication for doing botox on an individual who has graves disease. I would however go to an board certified plastic surgeon for your treatment plan.
