Botox, fillers, injectables, or any other procedure with needles have a potential for bruising. Usually there is little if any bruising with Botox injections. Medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory's can potentiate the risk of bruising. This is because they affect your ability to form a blood clot . They will not affect the results from the Botox treatment. If you are OK with slight increase chances of developing a bruise, then you have little to worry about. Best regards, Dr. WEISS.
Hi and thank you for your question! Given the impact of Naproxen on your coagulation, the risk of bruising will be higher. However, Botox injection is quite superficial and it's done with very fine needles, so the impact should be minimal. It will be up to you if you are ok with a potential of more bruising for a few days. I hope it helps and good luck!
You might be a little more susceptible to bruising but otherwise you should have no issues if you decide to proceed with Botox injections. Of course, it is also up to the preference of your treating surgeon.
Dear TJBM,Thank you for your question. One of the associated minimal risks with neurotoxin injections is bleeding with bruising, which is increased with the recent use of blood thinning medications such as NSAIDs. I strongly recommend you let your provider know upfront that you recently took Naproxen. We would typically proceed with performing the injection as long as the patient expressed understanding of the increased bleeding and bruising risk, but the decision is ultimately up to your provider. I would also recommend you ice frequently on and off the rest of the day and possibly the next day to help minimize your bruising.
Yes, you can have Botox after taking Naproxen. It may cause bruising, which should resolve in 1-2 weeks. Keep in mind, Botox results last 3-4 months. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for sharing your excellent question and best wishes on your first Botox treatment! Because the needles typically employed for Botox administration are so small the risk of bruising tends to be small with any treatment, despite the naproxen. Hope this helps.
Taking Naproxen the night before having a Botox injection will not affect your result but it could increase the chance of having some temporary bruising. I would just mention the fact, that you had the Naproxen last night, to your injector.
Although your risks aren't necessarily increased because you took naproxen the night before getting BOTOX, there's a chance you could see more noticeable post-appointment bruising as a result. This is because naproxen, like other NSAIDs, thins the blood. Tylenol (acetaminophen) would be okay to take either before or after BOTOX, but do let your injector know. Best of luck.
You will probably be fine but may have increased your risk for bleeding at injection sites and therefore increased your rixk for bruising. This, however, should effect your result from the Botox at all. Just make sure you notify your injector of taking the medication.
Other then a slightly increased risk of bruising, the Naproxen will not have any effect on the results of your Botox treatment.
Dear nssvintage, Thank you for your question. That is great to hear that you have contacted your dermatologist and arranged a follow-up appointment, which I would have recommended. In our practice, we typically offer a two-week follow-up visit to give time for any neurotoxin or filler treatment...

Hi aish_malik,We have numerous patients in our office who have had Botox after Lasik (even much sooner than 8 months) without any issue. I have also not heard of Botox weakening your eyesight. I don't see any problem with doing Botox at this point. However, if you are concerned, you can always...
