Done my lasik 8 months ago and now I want to have Botox under my eyes for wrinkles and for lifting brows. Can I go for it?

Hi aish_malik,We have numerous patients in our office who have had Botox after Lasik (even much sooner than 8 months) without any issue. I have also not heard of Botox weakening your eyesight. I don't see any problem with doing Botox at this point. However, if you are concerned, you can always ask your eye doctor, just to be sure. 

There is no contraindication to having Botox between your brows and around your eyes 8 months after Lasik. Your Ophthalmologist should be able to verify this for you as well.Good luck

Botox is very safe, and will not effect a patient who has had LASIK. I encourage all my LASIK patients to continue to use artificial tears as the best way to prevent regression after LASIK

You are perfectly safe to receive Botox after your Lasik procedure. However, you must know that Botox is not used to treat wrinkles under the eye area. It is used to treat wrinkles on the outside of the eye area also known as crows feet and forehead as well as frown lines and many other things but definitely not the lower eyelid wrinkles. There is no direct relationship between eyesight, which depends on cornea and lens to refract light rays, retina to receive those lights as chemical and electrical impulses, optic nerve to transfer those impulses to the brain, and the brain to interpret the impulses into images, and Botox. 
Where there may be an indirect relationship is via dry eye syndrome. Dry eye is the most common complication of Lasik. Fortunately, for most patients, dry eye resolves between six and twelve months after Lasik. However, for some patients, dry eye persists in varying severity indefinitely, which can affect the cornea's ability to refract light and, therefore, focus. In addition to myriad of dry eye symptoms, intermittent blurry vision is a common symptom of dry eye. In rare instances, Botox can cause dry eye in patients with or without a history of Lasik and, in turn, blurry vision if the dry eye is severe enough. This blurry vision is transient, though, and will resolve when the underlying dry eye is treated. Since Botox lasts, on average, four months, any negative effects of Botox will resolve within that time frame once the Botox wears off as well. 
In short, there is little contraindication for Botox after Lasik. Enjoy the Botox.
