I'm 24, female, I don't like my side profile. I feel like my nose is too big, my chin is too small and I have no space between my chin and my next. None of these problems bother me from the front, just the side. Especially when I smile I feel like I get a double chin so to speak. It doesn't feel like saggy skin, it feels like tough muscle under my jaw. Would surgery fix this? Implants? What suggestions do you have for a more prominent chin/jaw/neck line?

Answer: Defined chi and jawline Based on your photos there are a few treatment considerations. A more defined jawline can be achieved with chin and jaw liposuction. This will provide a well contoured and youthful appearance to your jawline. The chin projection can be improved in one of 2 ways and each has its advantages and disadvantages. A chin implant can be placed under the skin and muscle to provide more projection. It is a simple surgery and can be done at the same time as the liposuction. The disadvantage to this technique is that it does not always look as natural and make increase the width of your chin. A genioplasty surgery moves your natural chin forward without changing the shape of your chin. The disadvantage is that it is a more complicated surgery requiring a week of recovery.

Answer: Improving profile and jawline There are a variety of techniques that can be used to improve your profile and to give the appearance of a more defined jawline. A more temporary approach includes dermal fillers (e.g., Sculptra, Voluma, and Radiesse), while fat grafting, use of permanent fillers (Aquamid, Bellafill ) and facial implants would offer a more permanent solution. To address your concerns I would recommend having an in person consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facial aesthetics.

Answer: Chin Implant Candidate Yes, a chin implant could improve the shape and projection of your chin. When well placed by an expert, a chin implant can last for decades or a lifetime. You can choose a chin with will give you a better projection and smooth the jawline. Neck liposuction could also define and contour the jawline. A consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon is important; for the patient to be evaluated, their goals discussed, and a custom treatment plan decided upon. I hope this helps.

Answer: Chin Implant Hello and thank you for your question and photos. It is hard to tell in the photos what I would suggest for your nose. Many patients choose to undergo a rhinoplasty at the same time as a chin implant to help balance the facial features. However, it seems as though even just a chin implant would help your profile. I've injected filler in the chin (Restylane Lyft or Voluma are my favorites for this area) on patients like you, who might be on the fence, to see how they like it. Usually they love the difference it makes, and it gives them the confidence to proceed with the chin implant surgery. Fillers last about a year (give/take) but the chin implant is permanent. Best of luck, and let us know what you decide to do!

Answer: Chin augmentation possibly neck liposuction Based on these photos you seem to have smaller and narrow, pointed chin. Small augmentation, mostly on the sides would create wider chin and correct pointy look. This can be achieved with small extended implant or with fat grafting. Without clinical, in-person evaluation I could not decide whether a conservative liposuction of the neck and along jawline would further improve your chin/neck contour. Good luck.
