I am absolutely astounded by my experience with Dr. Richard Zoumalan! He, along with his staff, exceeded my expectations before, during, and after my rhinoplasty. I researched numerous doctors before deciding to go to Dr. Z, however, I knew I had made the right decision when I met him in person for my pre-op appointment. He was realistic about my expectations and also very comforting. After my surgery, I was able to do nearly everything I normally do, apart from driving and working out. I had close to zero swelling and very minor bruising on one under-eye. If I would have known how easy this surgery was going to be, I’d have done it years ago! During my reveal, he and his staff were so excited with me! I was in shock to see how beautiful and natural my results were!!!! Dr. Zoumalan is a magician with rhinoplasty. I am beyond ecstatic with the entire process and outcome of my nose. I recommend anyone go to Dr. Zoumalan……he’s got brains and looks, along with unmatched skills. I cannot thank him and his staff enough!
From beginning to end, my experience with Dr. Zoumalan was better than I could have ever imagined. I had a hump and a drooping tip and wanted surgery to get rid of both of those. I had been researching plastic surgeons since I was around 19, and I'm now 26. Either I never really liked any other doctor's work, or some of the reviews for them scared me off. When I found Zoumalan on google, I thought it was too good to be true, but it was true! His work and confidence made me feel actually safe moving forward with the process. Something I appreciated was he doesn't do any surgery on the body, just the nose and face, which sealed the deal for me. That means he is an expert! I know so many girls who have gotten their noses done only to complain about their long-term breathing problems and not being satisfied with the overall appearance of their noses and I definitely didn't want that for me, I mean who does? So it was a really picky process choosing a doctor, but Zoumalan checked every single box for me and more. So fast forward to the day of surgery, I was internally freaking out because I've never had surgery done and had no idea what to expect even though I read a million articles online of what to expect. Dr. Zoumalan and the anesthesiologist he works with, Dr. Baghdadi, were soooooooooooo amazing. Like I can't even express how well everything went, how smooth everything was, it was just perfection. I got home from surgery at 6 pm and by 8 pm I was walking around and could not keep quiet, all I wanted to do was hang out with my family and talk. I was facetiming my friends and everyone was like, aren't you supposed to be in pain or tired or something? But I wasn't! At all. Of course I was taking pain medication but I was feeling so normal. For the next 7 days after surgery I was out and about every single day, as if nothing happened. I'm still shocked honestly at how comfortable this whole entire process was. If I would have known it would have been painless, I would have done this a longgggg time ago - but I am also glad I didn't because I didn't know what to look for in a plastic surgeon a couple of years ago and wouldn't have been picky while choosing. Also, when I say painless I actually mean it. Like stabbing your toe on a table leg hurts more than this. Getting a paper cut hurts more than this. Brushing your hair when its tangled hurts more! It's now 5 days after my cast has come off and it's amazing. I should open up a thesaurus to find other words to describe Dr. Zoumalan and this whole experience besides perfect and amazing because I sound like a robot, but those 2 words couldn't be more fitting. It feels weird to say that I love my nose because I don't want to come off as vain, but it's a world of difference between my confidence level before and after this surgery. I already wrote a Yelp review but I wish I could have added on there how amazing even his staff was. I talked to Elsy the most, but also with Christin, and they were really helpful. The way the staff looks is important to me (in the sense of how much work they have/haven't had done) because when I see girls that have really big and unnatural lips, or super pronounced artificial cheekbones/jawline structure, it freaks me out and I don't want them anywhere near my face. Or even worse, when the doctor himself has had artificial looking, over the top work done. Yiiiiiiiiikes. Anyway my point is, Dr. Zoumalan and his staff all looked normal which is so satisfying because that just means they appreciate the simplicity and elegance of looking human and not fake, which in turn makes it more likely that I won't be looking fake. I'm so glad I went with Dr. Zoumalan, I feel so blessed to have found him and to have had such a great experience during surgery and with my results. Natural results was very important to me, as my facial structure wouldn't look good with a petite nose, and I was okay with that. I also still wanted to look like myself. I do get compliments because it is noticeable, but I didn't do it for the compliments. I did it so I could feel free and talk to people and go places without constantly thinking about my nose being the main attraction on my face, in a negative way. It was really such a big part of my life, all of the worrying and the constant scrutinizing. My nose can be the main attraction all it wants now, because it will only be in a positive way lol. Updated on 28 Aug 2020: I attached 2 before pictures and 1 after. It’s been 2 weeks and 2 days since the surgery. I love how it looks, I got approval from the office to slightly blow my nose and that made a huge difference. Now I can breathe normally. For not being able to breathe through my nose due to congestion/blockage for 2 weeks, I realized how I have taken advantage of simply being able to breathe. I’m so grateful to smell again, even the unpleasant odors. Wow.
I'm just going to copy and paste my yelp review. I'm lazy when it comes to writing reviews, but I feel compelled to share my amazing experience with Dr. Zoumalan. I first saw him in 2017 for a consultation regarding my deviated septum. I had BAAAD breathing issues, could not breath out of my left side, had nasal collapse on my right side, swollen turbinates, and suffered from sinus infections and post nasal drip. I also hated my nose. It was crooked, a little long, and one nostril was larger than the other (due to the asymmetric breathing). I was hesitant to move forward with surgery b/c I was afraid of going under (never had prior surgery) and I was afraid of recovery and pain. In early 2018 I had finally had enough with my breathing issues and scheduled the surgery. I had a full open rhinoplasty and septoplasty in July 2018. The experience was a breeze!!! Dr. Zoumalan does not use packing which makes recovery so much easier! I kid you not, but I was able to breath better than I have my entire life the day after my surgery! I honestly do not remember feeling much pain post op other than stinging around my sutures. I took pain pills for maybe about 3-4 days after surgery. I'm so happy with my results. Dr. Zoumalan is a gifted surgeon. He also strives for natural looks. He won't send you home with a barbie doll button nose. I highly recommend Dr. Zoumalan!!!
It was a blast to have Dr. Zoumalan as my rhinoplasty doctor! Everything went on smoothly and professionally from consultation, pre-op preparation, to the real surgery and post-op visits. It's been one and a half months since the procedure, and I am very happy with the result! At the consultation, Dr. Zoumalan was able to show dynamically how my nose would turn out through the 3D modeling program after listening my plan of having my nose look more symmetric and straighter down. In addition, he suggested adding more definition to the tip and trimming the natural hump on top of the bridge. I appreciate that Dr. Zoumalan tried to achieve my expectations and at the same time, give out his professional advice to make the nose aesthetically improved and still natural looking with other features. After the real surgery, I didn't feel much pain, and found it easy to manage the post-op care process with the instructions I got before. With some swelling, it was not too uncomfortable and the healing got better everyday. After one week, I had my first post-op visit to get my incisions off, which went on efficiently, and immediately afterwards, I was able to breath normally, or even better due to the breathing correction done in the procedure. I could notice that the condition of my nose was improved over time. More importantly, breathing is better now with improved air flow. It was definitely a great experience overall. Really appreciate the great work Dr. Zoumalan and the team have done!
My nose has been something that I have always been self conscious of. I hated the appearance of it-- it was the first thing I would look at in pictures and my number one insecurity. I also was diagnosed with deviated septum and suffered from severe allergies, which didn’t help either. When I was diagnosed with a deviated septum and the opportunity to get surgery was presented to me, I knew I wanted to wait to find the perfect doctor that would not only be able to solve my breathing problems, but would also fix my nose aesthetically, all at once. Who wants to go through all that pain and $$ twice and not look better? I saved my money for a couple years and began my search and thankfully found Dr. Zoumalan on Instagram of all places! I was immediately enamored by his work-- all the cute NATURAL noses he had done and his speciality in rhino and septoplasty (fixing the deviated septum). During my consultation with him, I immediately felt a sense of comfort and hope. He was extremely thorough-- His staff took what felt like a million pictures, he took a look inside my nose, talked about my goals and specifically what I didn’t like about my nose. Together, with his 3D Imaging program, we modeled what my new nose would look like and even pointed out aspects of my nose that I didn’t realize (an asymmetry with my nostrils, etc). His attention to detail is crazy! I also secretly love that he is a perfectionist. Additionally, he noted that the surgery would dramatically improve my breathing, something I was very excited to hear! I also liked his bedside manner-- He had a sense of confidence, but not too much that he seemed cocky and arrogant. He also answered the million questions my mom and I asked and didn’t make us feel bad for asking, no matter how minimal they were. That truly was the main thing I really liked about him, was how thorough he was with me and that fact that he truly took the time to create not just a pretty nose, but one that was perfect for me. This is my face, I was nervous, apprehensive, scared (everything you can imagine)... and he truly took the time and put most of those concerns to rest. I can honestly say after meeting with several other doctors, that I didn’t have that same feeling at all. I also really liked his staff-- They were incredibly warm and were willing to answer any questions and help me through every part of the process. Poor Christin even got a ton of emails from me with just questions regarding insurance. Even after the consultation I was SO nervous to commit. Not only was it a lot of money for a 23 year old to be spending, but this was my face! I must have gone back and forth a million times, but my concerns were more so towards the surgery itself rather than the surgeon. After realizing that this was something that meant a lot to me, I decided to book my surgery with Dr. Zoumalan and I am SO SO SO happy I did! After paying the fee for the surgery, the next step in the process was my pre-op appointment, which was 2 weeks before my surgery. Elsy took more photos that day and we went through everything there was to know about my surgery: preventative steps for bruising, days before surgery, surgery day, how to ice your face, what medicine to take, how to sleep at night, etc. We truly covered every aspect, which was reassuring, but a little overwhelming at the time. Dr. Zoumalan also came in and we went over once more the plan for my nose and addressed any questions/ concerns I had. The entire healing process was not the easiest. I was very bruised and swollen. I got sick from the anesthesia after surgery and was truly uncomfortable. The day I even got my cast removed, I was more in shock by how swollen I was than excited by the results. I also couldn’t smile from my nerves going crazy, so it all just felt weird to me. I can now happily say that almost 3 months in, with LOTS of swelling down, I am obsessed with my nose! My side profile is AMAZING, I can breathe SO MUCH better, my allergies have immensely improved, and overall I feel more like me than I ever have! This is the nose that I should have been born with and the best investment that I could have ever spent. I recognize me now, but not the person that I looked like before. I love how I look and feel and actually love going into the office for my check-in’s-- the whole office greets me with a smile and Dr. Zoumalan still to this day makes sure everything is perfection. I don’t think about the money that I spent, but the nose that I got. :) Thank you thank you for giving me the nose of my dreams and making me feel prettier than I ever have!
It has been six weeks post op and I could not be happier. From the initial consultation with Dr. Zoulouman I knew I chose the right doctor to do my Rhinoplasty, nasal surgery, buccal fat removal, and chin augmentation. I was hesitant in my decision to do everything at once because I am only 18, but I could not have done it sooner. I no longer have to be self conscious of my side profile! My nose had a slight bump and the tip was pretty flat. Dr. Zoulouman corrected this by shaving down the bridge and putting cartilage in the tip. It’s only been 6 weeks and my nose is already defined and perfect. The buccal fat removal helped slim down my cheeks considerably and really helped my side profile! My biggest insecurity before was my chin because it was pretty much nonexistent. I went with the large chin implant and it was the best thing I could have done. The overall pain was minimal; I only took pain medication for the first 2 days for a slight irritation in my chin. After 2 weeks I was good to go after all of the swelling was mostly gone. This unique combination and approach was so customized to my facial features shows that Dr. Zoulouman is beyond brilliant and truly cares for his patients. If I had to do it over again I would do it in a heart beat! The staff was also beyond caring and professional.
This man is AMAZING!! I have always wanted rhinoplasty but had never seen a nose that I liked enough to use their surgeon. So 3 years ago I decided I’m going to do, I’m going to find the right surgeon and finally do it! It literally took me 3 years and 13 consultations with 8 different surgeons to FINALLY find Dr Zoumalan and he was literally a God send. He gave me a nose that I could only ever dream about, and it looks so natural that I could easily not tell a soul and people would just think I have this perfect nose naturally :) Recovery was unusually very easy, everyone had told me that I would be very swollen and bruised and not be able to breathe for a week after surgery, so I was preparing my self for exactly that. To my surprise I got the complete opposite, I had slight bruising just under my eyes, I could breathe the entire time while my splints were in and cast was on and I slept very long and comfortably every night. The office called me often to check on me which I thought was really nice of them. It’s been just over 2 weeks since my surgery and I’m in love with my nose, I am getting compliments from all my friends and family members and the ones who had previously gone to a different surgeon for rhinoplasty now wish they used Dr Zoumalan. I am so happy I found him, I really couldn’t be happier right now. After leaving his post op consult today he said he was really happy with the way I have healed and how quickly the swelling had gone down. I have to also give credit to a company called “Body Systems Wellness” they are based in Glendale. I went to them for IV drips with HIGH doses of Vitamin C, getting the Vitamin C straight into my blood stream via an IV instead of taking them orally allowed my body to improve its collagen production and allowed for amazing healing! I went to them twice a week for two weeks before my surgery and one of their nurses came to my house while I was recovering for another Vitamin C drip and I’ve been going to their office twice a week since my surgery! I really believe that helped my speedy healing time and swelling, I would definitely check them out! Thanks again Dr Zoumalan, I really can’t thank him and his team enough. If you’re considering rhinoplasty, this is 100% the guy!!
I was always unsure if I wanted to get a nose job because I had seen so many that didn't look natural or fit a face right. But, I decided to see Dr. Zoumalan for a consultation after seeing and hearing about how great he was from a friend. He told me that I should see him right away! After going for a consultation I knew that I wanted to get my nose done with Dr. Zoumalan. I felt so comfortable with him about sharing my concerns. He gave me his honest opinion through out the whole process and assured to me that the results will turn out natural and fit my other facial features. He also showed me 3D images of my face so I can have an idea of how my nose will turn out, which was a helpful way to communicate with him on what I want/ don't want and what he can do for me. It's been a month since my surgery, and I can confidently say that his work exceeded my expectations! My results have turned out so natural and fit my face. It looks like the right nose for me. After looking at my before pictures, I can't believe I even questioned getting my rhinoplasty done! I did not think my nose could look this good. I couldn't be happier with my results and the experience as a whole. I have no complaints. His staff was also so helpful through out the process and so was the nurse and anesthesiologist on surgery day. Recovery went so smoothly. It was definitely not as bad as I thought it would be. I barley had any pain and the discomfort that I did feel went away after a few days. If you are thinking about getting a nose job, then I say go book a consultation with Dr. Zoumalan right away! You will be so happy!
Dr. Zoumalan is a rhinoplasty expert and I can’t recommend him enough. I had my first rhino consultation when I was 17. I have spoken with countless surgeons over the years, but I had difficulty finding someone who I felt could achieve my desired results. I am now 23. My nose required complicated maneuvers and I was always told that my nose goals were impossible. The surgeons I spoke with always made me feel like I was being too picky and asking for too much. I was beginning to think that I needed to settle and accept the fact that my nose would always overpower my other features. I was considering booking with another surgeon, but I decided to go out on a limb and make the drive from San Diego to Beverly Hills and consult with one more surgeon—Dr. Zoumalan. Thank goodness I did! During our consultation, Dr. Zoumalan listened to me and answered my (many) questions thoroughly. He was patient and professional. He told me that he could achieve exactly what I wanted and address all areas of concern. The 3D imaging looked amazing. I felt skeptical because I had always been told “no” by other surgeons, so I was concerned that Dr. Zoumalan was overpromising the results. It felt too good to be true, but it wasn’t! I went through with the surgery and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr. Zoumalan created the perfect little nose that is elegant, natural, and customized to my fit my other features. He spent much more time on my surgery than he had initially planned in order to ensure perfection. In addition, the anesthesiologist and the surgical techs were kind and comforting when I started to feel nervous on the operating table. It’s apparent that Dr. Zoumalan has the highest standards not only for himself, but for his surgical staff as well. I am both picky and a perfectionist, so exceeding my expectations says a lot about Dr. Zoumalan’s talent. My friends that have undergone rhinoplasties with other surgeons had fewer tweaks, yet they suffered from almost unbearable pain, swelling, and bruising during their recoveries. I had no pain, minimal swelling, and one bruise under my right eye. I’m sure my quick and easy recovery was a result of Dr. Zoumalan’s surgical skill and expertise. My only regret is that I didn’t find Dr. Zoumalan sooner! I never wanted to travel for my rhinoplasty, but looking back, I would have traveled across the country to be in the hands of such an expert surgeon. Other surgeons simply cannot produce the results that Dr. Zoumalan is capable of because they have not adopted such advanced, cutting-edge techniques. I cannot thank Dr. Zoumalan and his office staff enough for such an incredible experience. If anyone would like to see before and after pictures or ask any questions, don’t hesitate to message me on here.
I went through most of my life not really minding my large nose until I got into my 30's and it seemed to grow bigger and I gradually started experiencing difficulty breathing through my right nostril, to the point of almost complete blockage. At times I felt like I was suffocating. As the years went on I started being very particular on what side of my face I allowed to be photographed. My nose was very projected, with an unstable, bendy and droopy tip, a dorsal hump, "S" shaped bridge, and large uneven nostrils. Within the past two years I really started digging deep and researching the process and plastic surgeons in Los Angeles who specialized in facial procedures. The idea of getting my nose done became a thought that crossed my mind on a daily basis and when I reached that point I felt it was time to get the ball rolling in making this a reality. I had 2 surgeons I was interested in initially. Dr. Grigoryants & Dr. Zoumalan. Both do exquisite work in my opinion. I had a consultation with each of them; one via email and the other in person. My gut was set on Dr Zoumalan from the beginning of my search though. His work speaks for itself, he is a double certified plastic surgeon, he has a friendly laid back disposition, he was professional & straight forward, didn't rush through any of the appointments, our ideas and expectations matched, and he's a true artist who appreciates classic beauties such as Sophia Loren and the like. Additionally, I found nothing but 5 star reviews on him across the board!! It was a no-brainer that he was the surgeon for me. I'm currently at Day 5 Post Op and wasn't sure if I wanted to document my experience here or keep it private as I do most things. Real Self guided me so much on this journey, I can only hope that sharing my story helps out those of you out there still contemplating. Updated on 22 Jan 2018: Day 1- Surgery Day Everyone I interacted with while waiting to be brought in for surgery was wonderful. My anxiety was strong when I arrived so my blood pressure was registering higher than normal. Dr Zoumalan said this was a big job and would take about 3 hours to complete the procedure. A nurse came in, held my hand, and escorted me to the operating room. They got me comfortable and immediately set up. We were all chatting and then I was off to la la land. Then I felt like I had time traveled and it was over. I was waking up and could hear the nurse and my husband in the room. My husband snapped a couple super unflattering photos but I could see the new shape of my nose instantly. There was no swelling or pain that first night and I felt great when I got home and was coming off anesthesia, just very disoriented and confused. Days 2, 3, 4 Swelling, bruising, and pressure... oh my! The bruising and swelling was pretty intense by the evening of day 2. No pain, just so much pressure. Lots of icing. The mouth breathing and dry mouth is probably the most uncomfortable part of recovery so far. Biotene Mouth Spray provides some temporary relief with that. Eating soft foods is best unless you want to feel exhausted after eating. I have found that I get bursts of energy throughout the day but its best to take it easy and relax rather than overexert myself and become easily wiped out. Day 5- Swelling and puffy sacks under my eyes are much better today but the bruising still lingers. It's yellowing though so it's on the mend. I won't lie, I've had a few low point moments where I really feel like I look like a freak. I'm not used to seeing the space between my top lip and nose. I can't smile properly and feel like a Dr. Seuss character. I'm trusting the healing process though and trying to remain patient and confident that the final results will be perfection. Tomorrow is my post-op appointment. I don't feel ready to face the public yet but I'm excited to feel the relief of having my cast removed and to really get a good look at the nose that has been reconstructed for me. Stay tuned for more updates... Updated on 24 Jan 2018: I had my cast, splints, and stitches removed yesterday and as much as I immediately wanted to love it, there's a lot that is worrying me the day after removal. The ability to breath was such a huge relief, but looking at it this morning in the mirror is making me nervous again. The many emotions of this process, I know. It's SO swollen and bruised still that it distracts from being able to grasp whether I'm going to like the results or not. It's sitting very high between my eyes, very very wide, with the definition of a potato at the tip. It looks very obvious like I just had a nose job at the moment and it's not subtle. The shape is almost sloped today which is opposite of what I wanted. I've read numerous posts with similar concerns and almost all mention that it gets better. I'm just going to take deep breaths and see what happens in time since it's still so early... Updated on 1 Feb 2018: Updated on 2 Mar 2018: The swelling on the bridge has gone down substantially. Tip is still very stiff. Swelling fluctuates on a daily basis. Some days are wide days, other days it appears slimmer which is what I look forward to seeing long term. Being able to breath properly has been life changing. My smile has improved some but still looks awkward in photographs at the moment. No one notices in person though. In fact, I've seen many friends in the past week who didn't know I was having this procedure done and none of them mentioned anything. This goes to show how natural my results are, even though I know it's a drastic change. Excited for the months to come! Updated on 3 Jul 2018: I’ve had quite a few people ask me for an update on my progress this week, so here’s a quick photo update. Updated on 26 May 2019: Top: Before Bottom: After Updated on 29 Jun 2021: Here’s a photo update since it has been requested. Overall I’m very pleased with my results and have no regrets having this surgery.
Thank you for your question. The best option, is to get an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon who specializes in male Rhinoplasty. You may be a candidate for both open and closed approach. Once you have been examined, your surgeon will confirm with you which method of Rhinoplasty will give you optimal results.
Thank you for your question. There are several procedures that can be performed to enhance the appearance of your nose. Based on your concerns, you can consult with a surgeon and get more information on a Tip Rhinoplasty and Rhinoplasty. These procedures are to create a thinner and less bulbous nose
There are several procedures to enhance your overall look. You would need a thorough examination of the areas to know what would be best for you. I recommend consulting with a surgeon that specializes in these areas.
I would recommend researching surgeons who have experience with male rhinoplasty, as well as natural results. Also, consulting with a surgeon who offers imaging will help you communicate your goals during your consultation. This may help understand whether this result is possible.
You definitely need to be examined before deciding which treatment is best for you. Treatments to remove stubborn sub-mental fat can often be performed with non surgical treatments and under local anesthesia. Kybella is an injectable enzyme, which breaks up fat cells, typically requiring a series of treatments. Another option, submental liposuction removes unwanted fat with a cannula. Performed with the correct surgeon, the incisions will never be seen. I would recommend moving forward with a surgeon who specializes in both treatments.
