Large neck or short jaw. What are my options? (photo)

Question

I’m trying to determine what would be best to tackle as I hate both. My jawline is deficient and my neck is large. I don’t feel a lot of fat on the outside of my neck and definitely feel like a muscular issue. I’d like to know what my opinions are and see if I can start researching what procedure id like to get that doesn’t look fake. Such as a chin implant. Thanks!

Based on the photos provided, a small chin implant and neck liposuction procedure would likely produce a dramatic improvement and a very natural-appearing result. If there is significant laxity of the skin or underlying muscle, a neck lift may be indicated, but this does not appear to be needed based on these photos. Younger patients typically respond well to liposuction and well get some mild tightening of the skin in addition to removal of the underlying fatty tissue.
An additional option would be Kybella injections to dissolve the fatty tissue under the chin, but keep in mind that this requires multiple treatment sessions and will not augment the chin at all, which would improve the overall result. Neck liposuction and a chin implant can be performed in a quick outpatient procedure with one recovery period.

Based on your photos it looks like you will need both neck contouring and chin augmentation. Neck contouring, including liposuction and anterior neck lift, will address both superficial and deep (beneath neck muscles) fat compartments while chin augmentation will further improve neck/jaw angle. A consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in  face and neck surgery would help. Good luck.

You might be a good candidate for neck liposuction to remove excess fat along with FaceTite to tighten the skin. This would better define your jawline without making the chin look larger. These procedures can be done in the office under local anesthesia and requires just a few days of down time.

The best way to treat your neck in order to achieve the results you are searching for, would be to have an incisionles necklift with a chin implant. This procedure is not truly incisionless, as the incision is hidden in the crease behind your chin, so it is very difficult to detect after you have healed for several months. Through the incision, the deep muscle layers and fibrous tissue of the neck are reworked, which restores the neckline shape. Adding the chin implant, through the same incision, will balance your overall profile and give you an even prettier neck contour.

The photograph from the side profile demonstrates fatty deposits in the neck, short platysma muscle, and a weak chin profile.  Consider placement of a chin implant to augment the chin forward, and a neck lift procedure which would involve removal of fatty deposits above and below the platysma muscle along with a platysma-plasty.  No skin removal should be required.  For many examples of these 2 procedures, please see the link and the video below

Not much research is needed on your part. You self diagnosis is not entirely correct. All you need is liposuction of neck with optional chin implant.  Stay away from any non surgical recommendation since they may actually be counter productive. Good luck.

Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin, lips), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years.  From the photos, your cheeks are very flat in the front, the chin is weak, there is excess fat and skin below the chin and the back portion of the jaw line is weak.   
 Following my beauty principles, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.
 I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years.  From the photos, your chin is weak.  A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin.  Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. 
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin and fat removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty.  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.
 The back portion of your jaw line is a bit weak and can be augmented, without making your face appear masculine, using precise placement of a dermal filler (I prefer using Restylane Lyft).

I think you have both problems. I would recommend a chin implant combined with either liposuction or a neck lift. You do appear young enough that you have adequate skin tone to avoid a neck lift.
