The first four pictures I posted are pictures of myself from the selfie angle. The rest of the pictures (besides the last one) are mirror photos. I have a slight preference for the way my face looks from the selfie mode, and it looks undefined, wide, chubby, and disharmonious in long distance shots. My mid face looks flat, too. I posted a picture of my submental fullness. In the last pic, I am sucking in my cheeks a bit and pushing down my jaw to elongate my face. I want permanent solutions, TY!
Answer: Facial Slimming — Masseter Botox, Facetite/Renuvion J Plasma, Buccal Fat Pad Removal, Fillers to sculpt the Cheek/Jawline/Chin This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Most of my younger clients use fillers to give them shaping especially on the cheeks, jawline, and chin which make the face look more slim and tight; and threads such as PDO or Instalift can build collagen and support the facial shaping and skin looseness over time, slowing down the aging process and given the face a more “snatched” look; and morpheus8 or PiXel8 deep microneedling RF can tighten crepe skin especially on the neck and jawline and is great for long term tightening of the full face, neck and chest; its often used to give the face a slimmer more sculpted look because it tightens the skin and gives lift. an early face lift can be performed as well even in younger clients if they want a different facial shape, maxillofacial surgery with bone breaking or shaving can also be done. For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include: 1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face 2. Factite or Renuvion/J Plasma to tighten the lower face, jawline, and chin to reduce fat and give the jawline and neck tightening and shaping. 3. Botox to the masseter to reduce the muscular size of the jaw giving the face an illusion of being more slender 4. Fillers to the jawline, chin, cheeks, temples and brow help to shape the face and make it more angled and defined Always use at home derma rolling (see link to Emerageskin x anteageMD roller plus stem cells/hyaluronic acid ampules) and peels like emeragecosmetics enlighten or aerify that can be used to improve skin quality and tighten the skin while improving wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, and Melasma. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: What procedures for a more harmonious looking face? Dear byrdsy,Thank you for your question. Based on the photos attached, you have a face that many patients would be very happy with! I generally don't recommend permanent options first for someone of your age since your face will continue to change with time. I would recommend starting with some fillers in the areas you are looking to improve as this can be touched up every year or two as your face changes. I recommend a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to give you more information.

Answer: Glamorize your face Based on your photos, you would benefit from an endoscopic mid-facelift. This will help enhance your cheekbones, elevate your complete facial soft tissue envelope into a heart shape, elevate the tail of your brow and make your eyes more almond shaped. This is performed with an endoscope through two hidden incisions, one in the temple, and one in the mouth. This is not to be confused with a variant of a traditional facelift, such as a deep plain one involving incisions in and around and behind the ear. I hope this helps, best of luck !

Answer: Understanding facial aesthetics Each person’s unique facial appearance is primarily based on bone structure. To alter the shape of your face you need to address the fundamental underlying problem. Whether that’s worth doing or not is another story. I suggest having a few in person consultations with oral surgeons in your community or plastic surgeons who’ve done and craniofacial fellowship training. I don’t think soft tissue manipulation is going to get you the results you’re hoping for. Your frontal view shows a moderate amount of facial asymmetry. It looks like you’re occlusion is at an angle possibly because your maxillary is vertically higher on the left side than the right. The right side also seems to have more lateral projection. If you place a popsicle stick between your teeth, you can see if it lines up horizontally with the ground it. If it does not, then this is a clear indication of maxillary asymmetry, which could be addressed surgically if you want to go through that type of procedure. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
