Hello, I don't want ,my nose changed too much but will it change my voice if I'm choosing singing as a profession? so I'm highly considering a nose job because I'm an actress and I'm uncomfortable with the size. I don't want it changed too much because I have a longer face and wouldn't want it to be too small but I'm also a singer, would this change my voice? Singing will most likely be my profession.

Answer: Rhinoplasty surgery may lead to change in a professional singing voice. The configuration and shape of everyone's nose contributes to the resonant quality of their voices. If you listen closely to the progression of Michael Jackson's voice from the time he was young to the time he passed away, you may notice that his older voice reveals a slightly more hypo nasal quality. The likelihood of experiencing change in the resonant quality of your voice after rhinoplasty surgery may be estimated during an examination. If you are considering rhinoplasty for achieving a narrow smaller and more feminine nasal appearance, consider consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists so you could see if surgery would be feasible for you. Hope this helps! Dr. Joseph.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. You may also benefit from nasal tip deprojection. If good technique is used, your voice should not change. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
