Does facing down post rhinoplasty impact the results?

does facing down after rhinoplasty affects the final results? i face down to look at my head but im trying to elevate my head does it have a negative affect on the final result?

Dear xxl3,Facing down for short periods of time should not affect the final results. But if it done for longer periods, it can cause swelling and bruising. I recommend keeping the head elevated as much as you could for faster healing. Best regards,Nima Shemirani

facing down after rhinoplasty will cause swelling. Besides that, it should cause any more severe problem or negative effect. However, you should avoid doing it.

Keeping your head tilted down after surgery can lead to more swelling to the nose and slower resolution of swelling.  It is better to keep the head tilted neutral or even upwards to minimize swelling.

Head elevation above your body following rhinoplasty will help swelling resolve faster. Simply turning your head down (moving your chin towards your chest) should not significantly impact the final results. Best of luck!

After a Rhinoplasty, it is important to keep your head elevated the first couple of weeks. Facing down for small amounts of time, for example: tying your shoes, will not affect the final result. However, facing down for long periods of time may cause unnecessary bruising and swelling which may or may not have a negative affect on your final result. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
