Is it normal that after the first treatment during the first 2 weeks does not sweat a drop and then the sweat begins to return? Does that mean it does not work? I do not understand how you can go back. Or does he not go back to sweating more after treatment or is he coming back and does that mean he has failed? What could happen so that for 2 to 3 weeks the armpits were completely dry and then returned to sweat? Thank you very much for the answers you can give me.
Answer: MiraDry treatment Thank you for your question and the photo. It is quite common after the MiraDry treatment to have no sweating due to swelling in the under arms, and then as the swelling reduces some sweat occurs from time to time. It takes up to three months for the glands to properly settle after the MiraDry treatment so that is the time to evaluate the treatment.

Answer: Sweat After MiraDry Thank you for your question. MiraDry uses heat energy to target and destroy sweat and odor glands. Once the glands are destroyed they do not come back. Most patients see a 75-82% reduction in sweat and odor after their first treatment. Swelling immediately after the treatment may result in no noticeable sweat in the underarms initially. As the swelling subsides over the next few weeks, patients may notice some sweat. It is important to re-evaluate your results at 3 months to determine whether additional treatments are needed. Talk to your provider, who may perform a starch test to demonstrate the reduction in sweat glands as well as specific areas to target if additional treatments are needed. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo :-)

Answer: MiraDry - sweating after a few weeks Thank you for your question and for sharing your photo. miraDry can be a very effective method of permanenty reducing the amount of sweat in the armpits. It works by heating the sweat glands with an intense amount heat. A number of your sweat glands will have be permanently shut off. However, a smaller percentage will begin to sweat again. I would recommend waiting another month or so, and if the degree of sweat return is still of concern, then repeat the treatment. I have found that ~20% of patients benefit from a 2nd treatment despite starting with Level 5. I addition, I would recommend mapping out where you are sweating in the armpit as these areas can undergo focused retargeting during your repeat treatment.

Answer: Still too early You are likely sweating less than before the treatment. Usually within a few weeks to a few months after the treatment, patients begin to feel a trickle again after being completely dry and this is their new baseline. You may be a candidate for a second treatment, but need to wait for all swelling or any lumps to disappear.

Answer: Need to do Level 5 miraDry every time and experience counts In our practice, 90% of our patients require only a SINGLE miraDry session. 1st session is $1500. if you need second or third, it is only $1000 per session for our patients. I have been doing this procedure since 2011 and I am not seeing those patients from 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 coming back for another session! One session of miraDry costs as much as one session of Botox, which only lasts 3 months. H Karamanoukian MD FACS Platinum Plus Provider for miraDry since May 2011 Tweet
