Can I get a nose job safely at only 13? (Photo)

Question

I'm 13 and since I was 10 I've wanted to get a nose job. I'm afraid since I'm young no doctors will do it, and it might have bad results since I might not be done aging. How old is recommended?

A rhinoplasty can be done in young females at 14 years of age since there will be little changes in the after that. You will need your parents permission. You need to select a very experienced surgeon who does natural looking noses.

I think 13 years old is too young for rhinoplasty - as you age in the next few years, the shape of your entire face will change, and you might find your current (and future) nasal shape to be more harmonious than you perceive it to be currently. I like the shape of your nose and face, BTW.

Unless there is severe trauma, usually no. A patient 13 years of age receiving rhinoplasty doesn't exist unless there is obvious facial deformity or severe trauma. Hope this helps! By looking at your pictures, there is no obvious problems with your nose. In fact, it is a great shape. Is there any specific reason you desire a nose job?

13 is too young to undergo a rhinoplasty.  It is generally recommended that nasal surgery be delayed
until after 16-17 for a female and after 17-18 for a male. Waiting until then
usually allows the nose to reach its adult size.

I don't think you will be able to find any good surgeon who would do that at your age. Your nose has not matured yet and will still be changing for another 3 years. Do the rhinoplasty now and you'll want to redo it in just a few years.

Technically speaking, your nose will stop growing after this surgery.  Therefore most plastic surgeons would prefer you to have gone through puberty, so that your nose has reached adult size.  If you are through puberty, then you could have a rhinoplasty safely,..We require parental consent, also.

Most doctors typically would prefer you to be at least a few years older to ensure you are finished growing. In the mean time, you may want to start a collection of photographs of noses you like and would envision for yourself. That way you when you are old enough, you'll know exactly what you want and will be able to easily communicate that to your surgeon.
