The answer, without any hesitation is no. If someone told you this, it is a myth and no way possible. The whole purpose of a nose job is to balance the features of your nose with the features of your face. Yes, it can 'change' the look of your face, but you will still look like you. What it typically does, is rather than draw attention to your nose, shift the attention other areas of your face like your eyes. Imagine, if someone has a big bump or a large nose, its human nature to focus our attention on a part of your face that may seen 'off balance' with the rest. Once the nose is balanced with your face, our eyes will move away and focus the attention where they should, on the other persons eyes. James P. An artistically performed rhinoplasty should not change your appearance drastically. You should end up looking like a more refined version of yourself--not someone different!
A rhinoplasty can make significant changes but unless you are having drastic things done, you should be recognizable.
Rhinoplasty is all about refinement of your existing nose. It aims to correct specific anatomical features that you dont like by sculpting 'a millimeter' at a time. All the best
While the rhinoplasty procedure does make dramatic changes in the nose, the changes patient's are seeing are in the order of millimeters, so will the nose changes shape slightly, it will not make patients unrecognizable. Digital computer imaging would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with your nose upon your facial features, and then you can make your decision to move forward with a rhinoplasty procedure. Rhinoplasty can change and improve your appearance for the better, though you will still be recognizable. Just look over the before and afters and see if you can still recognize the individual. On the internet misinformation is plentiful.
Dear Michgel, though the nose is the most prominent structure on the face, nose job alone will not be enough to make you unrecognizable unless combined with other make over jobs like eyelids, chin, jawline, zygomatic bone and hairline modification.
It is not true that a rhinoplasty can make a person unrecognizable. Rhinoplasty just seeks to balance your nose with the rest of your facial features to achieve harmony. Best wishes.
No, this is not true. In fact, if someone says they can change your look...find another, more experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. The goal of rhinoplasty is for a natural look!
Fortunately very rare for a patient to not be recognized after a rhinoplasty because that will happen only following bad surgery. That will not be a risk if you select an experienced rhinoplasty specialist.
HiIn my practice, I advice my patients to avoid sports for two months after surgery. However, your surgeon knows what was done in your particular case and may have a specific reason why he/she is recommending to skip this season. Best wishes.
Your tip is probably not as down-turned as you think; you just have a little excess volume in the supra-tip region above it and this makes the tip look to long. reducing the tip volume and re-supporting the tip itself will correct the problem and also make the nose look slimmer from the front....
Yes, the swelling after rhinoplasty can fluctuate for a while. It sounds like sleeping more flat in your case may be leading to some increased morning swelling which is common.I also find that postoperative swelling can fluctuate for many months related to sodium intake in your diet.
