I will be getting Kybella and Juvederm Voluma done soon. However, reading through the recovery process listed on Real Self I have been getting a lot of conflicting advice. Some say that NSAIDS are okay, others state that they must be avoided. Same with advice regarding consuming fish oils or flax seed, and exercising within 72 hours. Is there a reputable site that can confirm what we can and cannot do in recovery?

Answer: Medicine should you avoid after Kybella Hello! In our clinic we tell our patients to avoid prescription blood thinners, NSAIDS (Advil, Aleve), aspirin, fish oils, vitamin E or excessive alcohol use. This will minimize your chances of bruising from the injection. I would take acetaminophen (Tylenol) for any discomfort and you can resume normal use the day after. If bruising occurs we advise arnica montana and pineapple juice. Best of Luck! Glow Med Spa Encino

Answer: Kybella and medications With any injections, minimizing risk for bleeding/bruising is wise. This would include aspirin, NSAIDS, alcohol, fish oil, vitamin c, and many others. You should speak directly with the doctor who is doing your treatment as they will have their own guidelines and it is important they know what you are taking and what you have stopped. Kybella is deoxychoic acid, and specifically FDA cleared for dissolving fat under the neck (submental fat).
