If I get a Kybella Treatment, can I still proceed with my liposuction procedure or my abdomen and arms with a fat transfer to my breast 2 weeks after the Kybella treatment? Thank you in advance.
Answer: Kybella and Liposuction Thank you for the question. I would ask you to clarify. Are you receiving Kybella under your chin? If so, that shouldn’t interfere at all with your arm lipo. But I would then ask, why not get lipo to your neck while you’re there? The whole point of Kybella is to avoid liposuction. It was designed for individuals who were opposed to having a more aggressive procedure like liposuction. That doesn’t sound like you, as you are obviously preparing to undergo it. Kybella requires multiple treatments over a prolonged time period. Liposuction is quick and results will be seen fairly soon. Discuss this with your surgeon. I wish you the best!

Answer: Kybella Dear meljustine4,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Kybella before Liposuction--add Coolsculpting, thermage, ultherapy, exilis, VASER, ThermiRF Yes, you can have liposuction to these areas after Kybella. Kybella is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options. I recommend a combination approach with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is the best alternative for contouring the chin. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Kybella Thank you for your question. You should be fine to have liposuction on your arms and abdomen after a Kybella injection. Please consult your provider and always seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist.

Answer: Can I still have liposuction performed if I have kybella administered? Thanks so much for your question. Kybella only works in very specific areas where it's being injected. It does not work globally throughout your entire body. So injecting kybella under your chin is an effective way to remove fat and unwanted volume specifically there. It won't have any effect on other areas of your body. However, you may want to consider having liposuction performed in all areas, rather than breaking things up, as it may be more cost-effective in the long run. You will have to talk to your specific physician and see what their thoughts are on things as well.
