im 18, and i have my fathers long and narrow face. ive always wanted to have a cute and short chin, or a heart shaped face. people have even asked me if im trans, and my big forehead and inverted triangle body shape definitely doesnt help. do i have to got to korea if i want to have a cute face shape? can any amount of surgeries make me look like these girls? im willing to pay any amount of money.
Answer: Hello BLKhellowKitty! Of course, this is just my opinion, and based solely on your own photos and your “wish pics”. The common theme with the “wish pics“ you have shared is a wider bimandibular distance, (leading to a wider jawline); customized mandibular angle implants can not only help you achieve this shape but also shorten your face for a better balanced, editorial look. Furthermore, though your chin is long, it is slightly recessed. Therefore, you most likely will need a form of bony chin reduction below, and perhaps a small implant above to give it a more convex projection . Make sure the surgeon does not approach the chin from inside the mouth because it will disrupt the delicate mentalis muscle which may lead to not only a droopy chin, but also a flaccid, droopy lower lip; this is difficult to treat. Instead, all bony chin reduction should be performed through an incision below the chin (on the outside). Augmenting the mandibular angles can safely be done intraorally..You should take creature comfort in the fact that this is quite a common jaw présentation patients complain about. I hope this helps. Good luck. .

Answer: Genioplasty and probably angle implants If you are going for the pics on the right, you need to augment the angles. That will bring your jaw width better in line with your cheek width (bigonial width: bizygomatic width). Your jawline definition is good but you have rounding at the angle of the jaw and augmentation would sharpen that as well. Then you would need to do a genioplasty (possibly jaw surgery) to bring your chin forward and up (shorten vertically). Depending on if you have gummy smile, to shorten your midface, you may need jaw surgery. And finally, if you want the full cheeks, implants would probably be your best option. Jaw surgery would help with fullness to some degree, but for that rounding/apple look, you would need implants. One of the main considerations for you should be if you have a good bite…if you don’t or it could be better, jaw surgery would be the best way to do it. If you went the route of implants (cheek and angle) and genioplasty, your recovery would be equivalent to jaw surgery. Most people think jaw surgery recovery is much more dramatic, and while no surgical recovery is fun, sometimes doing the ideal plan is the best way even when it may sound more scary. Whatever you decide to do, just make sure your doc has a good plan, you understand it well, and you address not only the aesthetic but the functional elements. One of the functional things you need to make sure of is your jaw joint…you may have some excess or asymmetric growth (which is very common and also not something to freak you out).

Answer: Jaw feminization I think that jaw reduction is not needed in your case. I see a recessed chin, lack of mandibular projection at the angles of the jaws, and flat cheek bones. I recommend a custom mandibular implant to provide better contour to the jaw angles and chin. I would also recommend cheek implants. This will improve your overall facial balance.
