I plan on getting forehead reduction and hair graft to get my desired forehead. Can I shave my forehead bone structure? (Photo)

Forehead reduction with or without Tissue Expansion. You won’t need transplants and can have your forehead reduced significantly with the Irregular Trichophytic Forehead Hairline Lowering that I invented 46 years ago and have done hundreds of times. If your scalp is mobile you wont need tissue expansion. No grafting is needed. You should NOT have your frontal bone shaved as your brain is on the other side. The brow bone can be shaved if needed.

I would agree that based on your photos, you appear to be a candidate for hairline lowering with brow bone reduction at the same time as well as hair transplant to help shape your hairline.  You would need a CT scan first to see how thick the brow/frontal bone is and get a better understanding of how much reduction is possible if any.

Based on these photos, it is likely that combination of forehead height reduction by advancing the scalp distally would visually improve forehead protrusion. In addition, conservative forehead shaving (contouring) may further improve appearance. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with experience both in reconstructive and aesthetic facial surgery is recommended. Good luck.

Forehead contouring can reduce a protruding forehead.  We do it with a scalp advancement and brow lift when necessary.  Shaving the bone is not usually the answer.  More often we need to adjust the bone more formally for better strength in the long term.  Watch our many videos to learn more.
