I was wondering how long swelling under the chin can last after lipo of that area? I had liposuction of the chin and neck two weeks ago, and my double chin seems to look worse. Is this normal, and if so, how long can it last. Thank you.

Answer: Lipo under the chin Swelling under the chin is very common after liposuction. In some patients, it resolves more quickly, in others it takes longer. There are a number of factors responsible for this: the amount of fat removed, the elasticity of the skin, the liposuction technique used by the surgeon and individual healing rates which vary from person to person. Follow up with your surgeon to be sure you healing is on track.
