I was wondering how long swelling under the chin can last after lipo of that area? I had liposuction of the chin and neck two weeks ago, and my double chin seems to look worse. Is this normal, and if so, how long can it last. Thank you.

Answer: Swelling after chin lipo Swelling can take a couple of months to resolve, and minor residual swelling can take a few months. However, most patients find that the majority goes away in a few weeks. So, wait it out for a couple more weeks.

Answer: Obvious Swelling For Chin Lipo Lasts Weeks, Not Typically Months I have seen chin/neck liposuction patients recover in days with virtually no swelling at all. On the other hand, I have to admit that it can be obvious for a few weeks that some procedure has taken place. The typical patient looks like themselves pretty quickly after the procedure is done. The issue sometimes becomes that either the patient or I know there is swelling - but the outside world has no idea.Unfortunately, I don't think there is much to do about prolonged swelling except watch your salt intake, maybe wear a garment at night, and wait. Any other injections or procedures have very little roll in the recovery process.Good Luck!
