Lump in glabella after Restylane Silk

Question

2 days ago, I had Restylane Silk injected into very fine nasolabial folds & a deep glabella line (also had Botox in glabella 3 weeks ago). The nasolabial folds are perfect; no bruising or lumps. But the glabella, while not bruised (just a bit red), is sore & has a lump the size of an M&M that I can feel (but not really see). Should I be concerned or give it more time? Felt like the doctor was much more aggressive in the glabella than in the nasolabial folds, so might it just be irritation?

Hi there and thanks for your question!  Because the injections were done only 2 day sago, the lump that you feel is most likely from swelling and/or buildup of the product.  I recommend lightly massaging the area to see if the bump smooths out and waiting until the swelling resolves on its own. If you do not see any improvement in a week or so, I suggest returning to your provider. Best of luck!

Be very careful when having someone inject the glabella area with filler as there is arterial blood supply there that can become occluded, this would be a problem and need immediate attention. The lumps will go away with simple massage. Be cautious when picking a provider, look for experience. Hope this helps. JB

Thank you for your question. Considering that it has only been two days I would give it more time since the lump that you are feeling could likely be from swelling.  If you are still concerned after two weeks I would return to your provider for a follow-up. I hope this helps.

This can be typical after filler. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Thank you for your question. It is possible that the lump your are feeling is residual swelling from the injection. It can take up to two weeks for swelling to completely resolve. I would recommend that if the swelling does not resolve in the next two weeks to follow up with your provider. Should you experience increased redness, tenderness, swelling  or pain, be sure to follow up immediately.

Hi, thank you for your question. Based on the face that the treatment was done 2 days ago and the provider was "more aggressive" with treating it, the lump could be due to swelling or a deep hematoma (bruise). I would recommend waiting a couple of days for the major swelling to reduce. If within the next couple of day, it doesn't improve or in face it worsens, see your provider.

Thank you for your question. It is quite possible that the lump you are feeling is a deep bruise and associated swelling particularly given your description of tenderness and redness. If it is not improving over the next 7-10 days I would schedule a follow up with your physician to be reassessed.
