Thank you for your question. During pregnancy, the skin on the abdominal area will stretch. In some people, this stretch will result in stretch marks or loose skin after pregnancy. This can happen even if you have had liposuction in the abdominal area. The difference will be that If you have had liposuction less fat will deposit there depending on the amount of weight gain during pregnancy. I hope this was useful. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. Having liposuction before getting pregnant doesn't have any effect on your pregnancy. Thats said, your body will undergo the usual changes that comes with pregnancy including weight gain. Best wishes!
Many of the patients who undergo lipo have children after the procedure. I typically recommend that a patient wait at least six months to become pregnant after lipo. The procedure forever alters the distribution of fat in a favorable way. The effects of liposuction on the skin are variable based upon the elasticity of the skin. Pregnancy can definitely change your overall shape, muscle tone, and skin laxity. Significant weight gains during pregnancy could affect the laxity of your abdomen and other areas which were liposuctioned.
if you gain weight after having liposution you may need to have the procedure again, I suggest seeing an expert. congratulations on finding out you are pregnant. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is perfectly fine to get pregnant after liposuction. Liposuction will not interfere with your pregnancy and getting pregnant is not going to destroy your lipo results. You will gain weight but the fat cell distribution will not change. After your pregnancy you will hopefully be able to shed your excess weight and go back to your normal. However you may be left with excess skin on your belly requiring a tummy tuck if you wish to regain a tight belly.
mscissor Good question. Those areas of the body treated with liposuction end up with less fat cells in the area, so if weight is gained, less weight is gained in the area treated. I have had patients that I have performed liposuction on problem areas after pregnancy, who subsequently got pregnant again. However, when they lost the pregnancy weight the second time, they regained their post liposuction figure. Bottom line, if you are pregnant, embrace and enjoy the experience. Afterwords resume a healthy diet and exercise routine and after several months, assess your body’s needs, if any. Good luck.
Hello! Congratulations on your pregnancy! Don't worry, previous liposuction will not affect your pregnancy in any way. Your body is going to go through some changes throughout your pregnancy, and of course you are going to gain weight. With a balanced sensible diet, you will hopefully return to your pre-pregnancy weight. After an appropriate amount of time after the baby, if you are not happy with your size/shape then you can consider liposuction again or maybe a tummy tuck if you are left with a lot of stretch marks. Best of luck!
You should have no concerns - the liposuction will have no effect on your pregnancy.Congratulations - I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy and subsequent child/children.Best wishes,Marcus
