As a general rule, surgeons with extensive experience in grafting large volumes of fat are most likely to obtain the best results. We believe fat transfer should only be performed by surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery that have experience in fat grafting. Few plastic surgeons have this experience. This ensures that your surgeon has advanced knowledge and technical familiarity, but also the subtle anatomy and aesthetics of breast augmentation.About 60% we remain permanently and second procedures may be needed
HI Ariel, Fat injections to the breast dissolve to some extent in all cases. The amount that dissolves is variable , however. It can even differ between the two breasts which could pose a rather difficult aesthetic problem. There is no way to predict how much will disappear. These are definite issues to discuss with your surgeon. You may need to have further fat injections and potential expenses should be explained to you so that you havean idea of what you may need to pay in the future.Hope this helps,Best,Dr. Christine Rodgers
The simple answer is yes it is permanent. The more complex answer is this: after your procedure there will be some fat that does not survive and your body will resorb it. Over the first couple months in addition to that there will be some loss of volume from swelling resolution. However, at around three months, whatever fat you have is likely permanent. It responds like fat does anywhere...you put on weight, the volume increases. You lose weight, the volume decreases.Dr Rodger ShorttOakville Plastic SurgeonAssistant Clinical Professor & Director of Cosmetic Surgery Training,McMaster University
The fat that remains after the initial resorption should remain there permanently. Like other fat cells in your body or breast, there may be changes with age. However, it is not a "temporary" event. An in-person exam with aboard-certified plastic surgeon is the best way to assess your needs andprovide true medical advice. Best ofluck. Dr. Michael Omidi
Honey, thanks for your question, but I do not recommend fat transfer because the fat doesn't last much.. And also is better for you to use implants for projection and durabillity.. good luck!!
Fat transfer is not necessarily permanent. There is acertain amount that will not live initially due to poor blood supply to the fatcell. It can take multiple sessions to build up enough fat for the result youwant. Not everyone is a candidate for fat transfer for augmentation. It isstill not a totally excepted avenue for augmentation. Patients who are goodcandidates have tight skin envelopes with not drooping of the skin or breasttissue. You would need an in office exam to determine if you are a goodcandidate.
Fat transfers may not be permanent, especially if you loose weight in the future. Some fat may be slowly absorbed over time. Certain areas, like hands, will absorb more fat over time due to movement.
In my opinion, neither is correct. It is not permanent nor does it dissolve totally with time. In part, it depends on the surgeon's technique and expertise, the method of harvesting and straining the fat, the quality and amount of fat injected etc. Generally speaking, in 2-3 months it sets in and becomes part of your body. Therefore, changes to your body habitus in terms of weight gain or loss will affect it.
It will always be cheaper to have a surgical procedure performed in another country as opposed to the United States. That being said, you typically get what you pay for.I always support saving money if possible, yet do not advocate/support doing this when your own health is on the line.I wish you...
The most common issue after fat transfer to the breast is an inadequate amount of augmentation. Unfortunately, the usual course after fat transfer is that the breasts are the largest immediately after surgery, then gradually they get smaller as swelling subsides and some of the fat is...
Great Question. Here is the answer: If you gain weight after you have a #FatTransfer the fat that was transferred to your breasts will grow to the same extent as where it used to live in the donor site (rather than the recipient site).
Most patients will need a few weeks off after fat transfer to the buttocks. The liposuction sites and your buttocks will be sore for several days. You will still be on pain killers. I also don't want you sitting for 2 full weeks so for a desk job you need to factor in that part as well...
Every surgeon's technique is different. What's done is done and you are left with permanent scars. You are right, one of the advantages of fat graft breast augmentation is to do it without scars and also contour the body from where the fat was collected. I personally use two needle poke holes...
A person’s own fat may be used to improve the appearance of his or her body by moving it from an area of excess (or where it is less desired, such as the thighs, hips or abdomen) to an area that has lost tissue volume due to aging, trauma, surgery, certain diseases, birth defects, or other c...
