Hello! Thank you for your question. In general, implant size does not correlate with bra cup size. The cup size itself will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer as well as who is doing the actual measurements. Thus, cup size is never a reliable indicator for your breast size. I typically encourage my patients not to communicate her desires in cup size but more on the actual look and appearance. Given your desires, a breast augmentation, with an implant or fat grafting, would be an ideal procedure that would meet your expectations. Breast augmentation is now the most popular procedure performed in plastic surgery today. One tolerated very well by women with minimal downtime and high patient satisfaction. Good communication between you and your surgeon of your expectations is warranted - choosing your surgeon wisely is the first step. Discussion of your wishes and having an honest and open dialog of your procedure is mandatory (e.g, implant type, incision, placement, etc). I have found that photographs brought by the patient is helpful to get a visualization of the appearance you wish for in terms of size, shape, fullness, etc. In addition, your surgeon's pre and postoperative photographs should demonstrate a realistic goal for you of results. Sizers are helpful during an in-office consultation. Once this has been accomplished, allow your surgeon to utilize his/her best medical judgment during the procedure to finesse the best possible result for you after preoperative biodimensional planning and fitting the right implant for your breast width. This is the most important determinant for the sizing of implants, which will provide the optimal result and most aesthetically-pleasing result for you.Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon well-versed in breast procedures who will examine and discuss with you the various options and factors to consider and help you decide which one will be the right one for you. Hope me that this helps! Best wishes for a wonderful result!
Many of my breast augmentation pts goal is to be a full C.However, what implant will achieve that will vary with each patient. How much tissue you already have is one variable. Your height and breast width are two others. Seek a good board certified plastic surgeon and they will guide you to your goal.
Thank you for asking. This is a very common goal and is very achievable. Patients need to see a board certified plastic surgeon for a specific individualized plan regarding breast augmentation. Sizing options and expectations should be discussed after an in person consultation. You have a very reasonable goal. Good luck
First, its not a good idea to based your augmentation on cup size alone. Remember, cup sizes vary widely by designer. So a C cup in one designer could be a B cup in another or a D cup in another. There are several factors that plastic surgeons consider when recommending implant sizes. I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients:1. Dimensional planning2. Gel Implant Sizing systemDimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the breast dimensions including the height, width, and current dimensions of each breast form the basis of dimensional planning. Based on these measurements, the implant size is recommended. This will give you a unique breast implant that is suited for your body frame. However, there are some limitations of what size we can recommend. For instance, some implants may just be too big for a narrow chest wall. Your surgeon can review this with you during the consultation.Gel Implant Sizing system – During the preliminary breast implant consultation, you will be provided with an option to “try on” a variety of implant shapes and sizes. You can also visualize the possible outcomes of your surgery which helps you to get that perfect size to give you the shape that you longed for. This way your preferences are known and you can then pick a range of implants that will “fit” just right to give a soft natural fuller look. Hope this helps.Dr. BasuHouston, TX
Your expectations seem very reasonable. Going from a B cup to a C cup is a relatively modest breast augmentation. Remember however that there are different ways to measure a woman for a bra. Consequently you may be measured differently from place to place. You are better off to focus on the shape you want and what can be achieved based on your current breast dimensions. Many surgeons utilize external sizing implants preoperatively. These performed implants can be placed in a sports bra allowing you to visualize the shape you may have postoperatively. Many surgeons also utilize Vectra 3-D imaging which provides you with a prediction of how you may appear post operatively. Normally it is ideal to place an implant big enough to completely fill your breast pocket without appearing "fake" or over augmented. It seems reasonable that you could expect to go from what is considered a B To a C cup and enjoy a very nice result.
Your desire is reasonable and should be achievable. Look at the gallery pif my breast augmentation patients The best way for you to communicate your goals to your plastic surgeon is not by cup size, or even cc's which can look different on different women, but by looking at the doctors' own before and after photos. Fine women with a starting point like your, with a result that is what you';d like.Too often, I fear, patients think of breast augmentation as a simple surgery. It is not. Each women is different and for a truly natural and lasting result, they need to select a plastic surgeon with outstanding training and expertise in selecting the correct size and shape of an implant for a woman's unique body shape and placing the implant in the ideal position. Creating breast implant pockets that are not too high, too low, too far part, too large or too tight, is simply not something that is accomplished by all plastic surgeons.Although there is a range of breast implant sizes available to transform most women from a B cup to a C cup, there is no simple recipe for breast augmentation surgery. Take time researching the plastic surgeon you select to make this permanent change to your body
Dear Debbie,Thank you for your question. The best way to accomplish this is to go to an experienced board certified plastic surgeon and describe very precisely your goals. A good plastic surgeon will listen carefully and be able to accomplish your goals. Best wishes, Pablo Prichard, MD
Thank you for the question. There is no accurate correlation between size of breast implant and cup size achieved.Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "full C cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging technology may also be very helpful during this communication process.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. I generally select appropriate breast implant size/profile after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers and viewing the patient's chest in the upright and supine positions.I hope this (and the attached link) helps.
Thank you for your question! A common misconception among patients preparing for a breast implant surgery is that a certain implant size equates to a certain bracup size, or they can look at pictures or friend’s augmented breasts and picktheir implant size based on what they like on other people.Every patient has a different breast width, is different inheight, and has different amounts of their own breast tissue that contributesto the final size and shape of an augmented breast. A qualified, board certified plastic surgeonwill measure the width of your breast and help you select a breast implant with a basediameter that fits your chest appropriately. From there, the stretchiness of your skin, and your desired look and size help us determine the actual volume of the implant that will work best for you. We use sizing systems in our office so you can actually place implants of different volumes inside of a bra and give you a good idea how a particular implant volume will make look in clothing. The good news is that you have a very reasonable goal and should be able to achieve a nice natural result.
The providers choose which plans they offer in their practices. Since the finance companies charge practices as well as patients--- it varies from one doc's office to another which plans they offer. Based on which plans are offered to you--- you will then choose the plan available.
