I paid a deposit with a surgery center after they assured me my doctor would accept me with hep C. I said i HAD IT, not that i was treated & cured! They knew i was on meds & now that i had to have clearance done they’re saying i probably won’t be cleared!! Are they doctors who will do surgery on a patient with hep C who currently is NOT on meds for it? I am going the holistic/ natural route being it’s not fully covered by insurance & costs upward of 85k for 3 months! I feel mislead!
Answer: BBL candidate Dear sammieee1008, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: If I have hepatitis C and am NOT on medication for it, can I still have a Brazilian butt lift surgery? Hello @sammieee1008 To undergo plastic surgery the patient needs to be in good health. Hepatitis C is a Viral disease, it can and should be treated, because it can have very detrimental health effects for the liver. I suggest you get treated first and then have your BBL. Best wishes! Answer: If I have hepatitis C and am NOT on medication for it, can I still have a Brazilian butt lift surgery? You MUST obtain a full written medical clearance from your hematologist in order for any surgeon, myself, to accept you as a potential lipo 360/BBL patient.

Answer: Hepatitis C and BBL? You can get a BBL with hepatitis C. You are just a higher risk patient to the surgical team that will work on you. Just find a team that is willing to take the extra risk. Similar situation exists for patients with HIV who still are able to get elective surgery. If you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD,FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Untreated hepatitis C. Priorities. With current treatments available today not addressing hepatitis see and instead choosing to spend money on cosmetic surgery does not make much sense. Hepatitis C is highly transmissible and can be given to others with very small blood exposures or through sexual intimacy. There is no holistic treatment for hepatitis C. The disease will eventually lead to cirrhosis, liver failure and the need for a liver transplant. I suggest focusing your efforts on getting health insurance that’ll cover the treatment or find someway towards getting proper hepatitis treatment. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
