Is it common to have a rhinoplasty and otoplasty at the same time?

Rhinoplasty and otoplasty are two procedures which can be performed at the same time and it is very common to to so.  I find that patients can then recover from these procedures at the same time, making for a shorter recovery period.  

It is not uncommon to combine surgical procedures as long as one area does not affect the other, and this is the case with otoplasty and rhinoplasty. I have performed this combination many times and patients like it because there is only one anesthesia and one recovery, and the price is decreased some. Be sure to see a facial specialist for consultation.

hello thank you for your question and provided information as well .. if the patient applies for both procedures he would not have problems doing it at the same time.Ideally, it should be evaluated in person [by a certified plastic surgeon who sees the case.

Thanks for your question. It's not a problem to perform both Otoplasty and Rhinoplasty at the same time. Because they are two separate surgical sites they really don't interfere with one another during the surgery or the recovery period. A well done Otoplasty should look natural and not too close to the head but you need to communicate your ideal to your surgeon and see their before and after photos to be re assured.Good luck

Hi and thanks for your question.  As the other surgeons have stated, yes it is fine to do a rhinoplasty and otoplasty together.  I have done this many times.  The most important thing is to find a surgeon who has lots of experience with these procedures and can show you many good before and after results.  Typically, that would mean a Facial Plastic Surgeon as we limit our practices to just the face.  I would be happy to see you for a consultation with computer imaging as my office is close to you in the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia.  Most patients would go back to work after 7-9 days after surgery. I charge $8500 for a rhinoplasty and $5500 for an otoplasty, but if you are doing both procedures, I would work with you on the price.  The surgicenter fee would be about $2250. It is not uncommon to do both procedures at the same time and by doing so it allows one recovery time and most likely lowers the overall cost of your procedure. It is possible to achieve the pinning back of your ears without over pinning them and also to reduce the size of your nasal hump. I would recommend that you consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon who is experienced in facial plastic surgery and typically performs those procedures on a regular basis.

It is very common to perform rhinoplasty and otoplasty during the same surgery.  Cost varies based on geographic region and surgeon expertise.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.

Yes, these procedures can safely be performed at the same time- provided a patient is a candidate. In person exam is essential. Without photos- it's difficult to comment accurately. Prices will vary from Region to Region, Practice to Practice, experience of a Surgeon, etc...
