Is it possible to make my nose more narrow without breaking the bone? (Photos)

It is possible to narrow nose dorsum and bony part (upper part of the nose) to a certain degree without braking bones using high speed contouring burr. Nostrils and tip can be adjusted accordingly. However, I see no reason for not cutting nasal bones if that will provide superior result? In person consultation with an experienced plastic or facial plastic surgeon expert in rhinoplasty is recommended. Good luck.

you ate an ideal candidate for a tip and alar rhinoplasty. There is no need to cut your bones. There is a Quill suture technique that can correct your nose with minimal incisions and quick recovery. Good luck. 

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose.  You may not require osteotomies.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.

It is absolutely possible to narrow the nose without having to break bones. I frequently see patients who wish to narrow a wide nasal bridge. The bones can be gently filed, which allows for more precision, thereby reducing the width and decreasing recovery time and bruising. For best results, please have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with specialty in rhinoplasty.  

Narrowing the nasal bones accomplishes narrowing the  upper two thirds of the entire nose. When narrowing the nasal bones with osteotomy's, this also accomplishes narrowing the upper lateral cartilages as well. A tip-plasty is required to narrow nasal tip cartilages.  An alarplasty is required to narrow wide nostrils. Performing a tip plasty would achieve your desired  goals for the lower part of the  nose. However, if you desire  to have the  boney  structure of the  nose narrowed, an low to high  osteotomy of the  nasal bones is needed.

The tip and the cartilage parts of the nose can be made narrower without breaking them, but the bony (upper) part of the nose cannot be made narrower without treating the bone (i.e. breaking it).    Be sure to discuss your expectations clearly and openly with your board-certified plastic surgeon.

You may be a candidate for tip refining surgery. I will caution that your nasal bridge is wide and this must be factored into any surgical proposal.
