In the nasal crest of your nose, how common is it for one side to have a bulgier more pronounced bone than the other nostril? I just recently discovered this by feeling the insides of my nostrils and it's alarmed me. Is it natural for each side to be asymmetrical?

Answer: Nose asymmetry In general, no face or body structure is perfectly symmetric from side to side, with ears tending to sit in slightly different positions and breasts, hands, and feet having minor asymmetries in most people as well. The nose, composed of bone in the upper, firm part of the nose, and cartilage in the lower part, can also show asymmetries. This may be a reflection of one's genetics, development in the womb, trauma, surgery, or a combination of the above. For a more specific answer, please consult with an Otolaryngologist (ENT specialist) or Plastic Surgeon for a detailed exam and discussion of your concerns. Good luck!
