Can you get Lipo with a bullet still lodged in your body? (Photos)

Question

10 years ago I was shot in my left buttocks. And the bullet is still lodged in my hip. Is it possible to still get liposuction around the flanks and lower stomach area? Or should I try an alternative approach. And if so what are some alternative approaches?

Thank you for your question.  From the photographs that you included, it appears as though you would be a good candidate for liposuction of your abdomen and flanks (love handles and bra rolls as well).  While it would be preferable to know the exact track that the bullet took and where it currently rests, I do not see its presence as a definitive contraindication to a liposuction procedure.  To this end, your operating surgeon may send you for a scan to determine the bullets exact physical location to ensure that there is no interference.I would recommend scheduling an in-person consultation and exam with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon with expertise in liposuction and body contouring procedures.  I hope you find this helpful and best of luck!

Based on your photographs, you are a good candidate for liposuction.  The bullet should not be a contraindication for liposuction.  The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. It would be nice to know where exactly the bullet is, but if it is in the muscle deep, then liposuction can be performed because that is performed in a  more superficial fatty layer.
