Is CoolMini safe to get if I'm 4-5 weeks pregnant?

Hello and thank you for your question. I would ask your OBGYN if it is safe during pregnancy. If they say yes, then you would need to bring a doctor's note to the clinic you are getting CoolSculpting done at.

Although there is little chance that it may affect your pregnancy, most Coolsculpting specialists will recommend you avoid doing anything that would remotely complicate your pregnancy. It is just not worth any risk.

While CoolSculpting is a very safe body contouring procedure, its effects on pregnant mothers and their developing children have not been studied. Even though it is unlikely that CoolSculpting will affect your child in any way, even if you were only planning on targeting your chin, I would not recommend moving forward with the treatment.
Your body will also undergo changes as you advance in your pregnancy, including gaining fat, so waiting until after your pregnancy would be best. Even though having CoolSculpting® on your chin (and not your abdominal area) is probably not dangerous to your baby, most plastic surgeons and CoolSculpting® technicians will decline to do the procedure on pregnant women. This is because there is no research to show the effects of CoolSculpting® on pregnant women and unborn babies. In cases like this, it’s always best to err on the side of safety and wait until after you have given birth to have CoolSculpting® or any other cosmetic procedures done.   

I have to agree with all of the other doctors here, CoolSculpting should not be carried out on someone who knows that they are pregnant.  I often have patients ask me if they can have 'this or that' treatment  while they are pregnant and the answer is always the same.  No.  Pregnancy should be a happy event in your life and it is simply not worth the risk when the effects of the treatment on the unborn child are not fully understood.

Cryolipolysis or cooslculpting effects on the fetus are unknown. Best not to take chances. After you give birth you may consider coolsculpting or alternative options.

Hello, and thanks for your question. Even if you’re planning to have CoolSculpting® in your chin area and not your stomach, you may want to hold off on this until after your pregnancy. Not only is there not much clinical evidence one way or the other concerning the safety of this procedure while pregnant, but it’s also likely that you will require a touch-up after weight fluctuations due to your pregnancy. I would suggest contacting your plastic surgeon’s office and explaining the situation before going ahead with your appointment. Hope this helps!
