If its a revision, typically surgeons only ask the patient to pay for the surgery center and anesthesia. Medicare does not cover cosmetic surgery and does not cover exchange of implants because you want to go smaller. However, you could check with a University Hospital that has a training program for plastic surgeons. They often offer reduced rates, and the surgeries are all supervised. Most of these surgeons have already completed 5 years of general surgery training so they are not fresh out of medical school.
