I have a major rippling issue after loss of breast tissue plus excess skin and sagging post-breastfeeding. I have been recommended breast lift AND liposculpting, to be done in the same session. It is significantly more economic to do the 2 procedures together but is there any disadvantage to doing so? Will the fat still distribute and settle into its new location as it would if the procedure was being done in isolation. Grateful for your advice
Answer: Breast lift If money is no option, 2 procedures are optimal if you have a significant amount of lifting of the breast needed. It is possible to do the 2 procedures at the same time & of course your surgeon will attempt to make your breasts as close to perfect as possible but mastopexys are long tedious procedures and sometimes tissue swells and the fat transferred to the breast may or may not survive and be completely symmetrical. If you choose to do both together, that’s okay too, just keep in mind that there’s always the possibility you may need a touch up procedure to achieve your goal breasts.

Answer: Breast lift & liposculpting Hi-Thank you for submitting your question. There are no real disadvantages. The only possible risk is a chance of injury to the blood supply to the nipple and areola. I'm sure your plastic surgeon will take great care to minimize this risk. I always recommend discussing any concerns you have with your board certified plastic surgeon.Best of luck with your procedure!Dr. Rodriguez

Answer: Breast lift & liposculpting Dear trianglesquare, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others. Answer: Breast Lift, Breast Augmentation, Breast Implants, Mastopexy Dear trianglesquare, Thank you for your question about the potential disadvantages of undergoing a breast lift and liposculpting simultaneously in one surgical session. Advantages of Combining Procedures: Combining a breast lift (mastopexy) with liposculpting can be advantageous, particularly if you are in good health. Undergoing both procedures together can be more efficient, reducing the total recovery time compared to having two separate surgeries. It also means undergoing anesthesia once rather than twice, which can be beneficial for your overall health and recovery. Preoperative Assessment: Prior to the surgery, comprehensive lab tests and a physical examination will be conducted to ensure your suitability for the combined procedure. No Significant Disadvantages Noted: There are no notable disadvantages to combining these procedures, as long as you are deemed a suitable candidate based on your health status. In conclusion, if you are healthy and your preoperative evaluations are favorable, having a breast lift and liposculpting in one session can be a practical and effective approach. I hope this response has addressed your concerns and assisted in your decision-making process. Wishing you a successful surgery and a smooth recovery. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Surgery In my hands, I do the fat transfer separate to and after the breast lift is done about 3 to 6 months later. If liposuction is done to remove excess fat, then the lift can be done at the same time. If liposuction is being done elsewhere, it usually can be done during the same surgery time. Using the term "liposculpting" is not clear if you mean a fat transfer for more volume or fat removal.
