I had a labiaplasty a number of years ago performed. My surgeon says there’s nothing that can be done about this issue and says I have a great result. After having my labia almost completely amputated, my frenulum protrudes a lot. It is irritating during intimacy and the sensation of the flaps of skin moving independently of anything else is a reminder of the botched procedure. Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue?

Answer: Revision of botched labiaplasty Sorry about your poor experience with what should otherwise have been a life-changing procedure for the better. Revision of the frenulum and remaoining labia could certainly be an option for you. A photo would have been helpful in giving you a better response. Go to the link below to see hundreds of before and after photos where you will find many examples of my work. From that link you can schedule a virtual consultation via phone or zoom, at which time we can discuss in depth your anatomy, expectations and concerns. Answer: Detached frenulum It would be helpful if you send some photos. As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques. Your present dissatisfaction is due to a trimming labiaplasty which can leave a protruding frenulum. I have repaired many of these in which I suture the frenulum down. You also state that you have no labia. That also may be fixed. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" over ten years ago, and about 40% of my female genital surgeries are reconstructions of botched labiaplasties. You may need various reconstructive techniques to give you a good appearance, but this won't be known until all the swelling is gone. If you want small labia, I probably would recommend clitoral hood flaps to reconstruct your labia if your surgeon left enough remaining clitoral hood. I also invented that procedure, which is published in the paper above. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. Gary J.
