I had a labiaplasty 10 years ago that has gone terribly wrong. The surgeon removed all my labia minor and it has left massive scars on both side. Moreover as there is a tiny bit of labia left at the top, my clitoris looks huge and as that tiny labia is not connected to anywhere distally, my clitoris hood doesn’t retract anymore. All of these has resulted in lack of orgasm. I really need someone who can help me. Even if there is a tiny hope. Do you recommend scar removal and hoodectomy?
Answer: LABIAPLASTY,CHR REVISION Dear Patient, Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve faced after your initial labiaplasty. Based on what you've described, it sounds like a revision surgery could provide significant improvement for your case. A revision that re-establishes the connection of your labia minora to your clitoris, along with clitoral hood correction, could help restore both function and aesthetics. Additionally, combining this with whitening and fat injection to the area can create a much more balanced and visually appealing result. The techniques I’ve mentioned offer a strong possibility of improving both the appearance and your experience of sensation. Best regards,Dr. Mehmet Bekir Şen

Answer: Botched labiaplasty - do you recommend scar removal and hoodectomy? Thanks. I think you should perhaps have been made aware of your own anatomy and tge likely difficulties that your surgeon would / could have had in avoiding clitoral damage. This surgical challenge remains with risk of changes in sensitivity. You inner labia groove is shallow therefore removing less would / could have looked like your labial protrusion continued after surgery. This is a tricky one. If reattachment is achievable it might make you feel a bit better, but it’s difficult to guarantee. If reattachment is achievable perhaps a second-stage trimming of any scar could then be considered.

Answer: I'd like a revision. What might a surgeon do..? Hello Friend from Australia... While of course it is difficult to be accurate re: technique based on one 2-dimensional photo, here's what I opine: 1. Re: the irregular edge of your LP, a gently applied "airbrushing" with a RF needle would best "smooth our" the edges. 2. A savvy, experienced, female genital plastic/cosmetic surgeon will be able to aesthetically bevel your redundant upper labial and hood folds and address the retractability issue. There are definitely techniques known to experienced Cosmetic Gyn or Plastic surgeons which can go a long ways towards making you "...whole." 3. Most importantly, find an experienced genital cosmetic surgeon to help. You may not be able to find such a person in Australia, and may need to make the flight to the West Coast, U.S.A. Re: a suitable surgeon in Australia, you must be a good consumer, looking carefully at the "before & after" photos on potential surgeons' websites to ascertain experience and technique... 4. Re: your issues with orgasm, this may not be related anatomically, so equally important is to see a surgeon who is savvy in sexual medicine, in order to best work with you regarding your orgasmic issue. Best wishes, Michael P Goodman, MD, FACOG, IF, AAACS Sacramento, Northern CA, USA
