Restylane-L used close to expiration. Is that normal?

Fillers used close to expiration date will have no impact on your result.  The fillers are packaged sterile so there should not have any adverse effects. Best Anil Shah

It is not a problem to use a dermal filler that has not expired. One month away from the date is not at all unusual. Best wishes on your results,Dr. ALDO 

I believe this should not been done without your consent. If you were made aware of the expired product and you chose to do it, is a different story. But if you were not informed, that is totally wrong. I would not use expired products anyway. 

It is perfectly safe to use Restylane within one month of the expiration date.  The product is still safe for use.  Every doctor orders product differently.  Some place a very large order which may result in having product closer to the expiration date.  

There is nothing to worry about using this product. The FDA requires companies to place expiration dates on products. In reality, they could probably be used for years after the expiration. There is no decrease in efficacy or sterility you should be concerned about.

Don't worry, the product is good, if you have any redness, pain, swelling, worsening pain and possibly fevers, than be worried about infection, but meantime the date is current and you have nothing to worry about. Best wishes, Dr Violetta Mailyan

It depends on how many boxes your doctor purchased which may account for the product being a month away from expiration. That said though the drug is perfectly fine as long is its not long out of expiration. The package is sealed sterile and the properties of the filler still intact so don't worry.

Thank you for your question. You should see no difference in the performance of your filler. It was placed prior to the expiration date and that is all that matters. It is safe to use filler prior to expiration date the expiration date is a use by date.  All you have described is within normal practice.
