I had a revision rhinoplasty after waiting 20 years to fix a deviated septum. My profile wasn’t the best before but it was not a huge concern as I just wanted a straight nose. Now I have this profile I feel is way too over projected and can’t breathe out of my right side. Any suggestions on if a revision would help? Or should I leave well enough alone ar this point?
Answer: Why septorhinoplasty revision may be right for you Thank you for submitting your question and photos. Your nose does appear to be slightly over-projected, which can be addressed with revision. During this procedure, the shape of your nose can be altered to be more in harmony with the rest of your facial features. To address breathing concerns following rhinoplasty, the cause of the blockage must first be identified. Areas that commonly cause nasal obstruction are the septum, turbinate, or nasal valves. You may require revision septorhinoplasty to address your functional and aesthetic concerns simultaneously. Keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in septorhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to review your surgical history, discuss your aesthetic and breathing concerns with you, and conduct a thorough evaluation to determine the best approach.

Answer: Revision Rhinoplasty Hello, hope you are well. The functional concern is a problem that requires in-person evaluation to determine what is causing the obstruction. If it is a fixed obstruction because of nasal valve collapse or septal deviation, it may require revision surgery to correct. Your tip projection is hard to assess because your head is somewhat rotated in the photo that you provided, but overall you appear to have a straight nose on A-P and profile view. I suggest you have an in person consultation with an experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeon to determine the cause of obstruction and give you a nuanced answer about further cosmetic modification including potential risks. Best,Dr. Tower

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question.I have evaluated your case from the photos and information you provided.Your nose is too long, overprojected. The nasal bridge looks great anyway. But I highly recommend you a revision rhinoplasty surgery to fix your breathing issue (which is really important) and we can make your nose a few mm shorter. Best regards!Prof. Dr. Selcuk Inanli

Answer: Breathing issues along with some cosmetic concerns I would need to see a worm eye view of the nose (the one from underneath the nose) to see if there was a issue creating your nasal congestion. An intranasal evaluation would also be necessary to see if your septum and turbinates were an issue. In terms of aesthetic concerns, I might suggest that your nose looks good and the enemy of good is better.
