Can this indentation above my nostril be fixed? (Photo)

Question

I had rhino two monthsago and as the swelling has gone down, an indentation on the right side above my nostril has become more prominent. The left side is fine. What could have caused this and how can it be fixed? I’m trying not to panic but I’m getting worried as it’s really noticeable.

Thank you for your question and photos. When recovering from rhinoplasty, it's important to remember that the nose can continue to change throughout the following year. Being that your surgery was only two months ago, you’re likely still experiencing some swelling that will significantly impact your ability to see your final result. Six months after surgery, you may consider dermal fillers to add volume to the indention and mask its appearance. If you’re still unsatisfied with your nose’s appearance once a full year has passed, you may require revision rhinoplasty to address the indention, which may be caused by protruding cartilage in the surrounding area.

Keep in mind that each subsequent nose surgery becomes more complex due to the loss of structural support, scar tissue, and other factors. The importance of experience, expertise, and artistry cannot be overstated. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to oversee your recovery, review your treatment history, and determine the best approach to help you address your concerns.

Hello! Thank you for your question.From the photos you provided it looks like there is some cartilage sticking out. This needs to be fixed. Moreover, your tip looks bulbous and droopy.I recommend you a revision rhinoplasty surgery.
