I am 3 days post op and have 2 blisters along the incision. I called the Dr and he is telling me to peel back the steri strip so it's off the blister. Ouch. They do not hurt right now, they just look abnormal. Both blisters are on the same side. I go tomorrow for a check up. Any advice??

Answer: Blisters on incisions after BA
My advise is to keep your appointment and listen to your surgeon. No one on this site knows you as well as your own surgeon. Go to bed early tonight so you won't keep thinking about it!

Answer: Blisters from Steri Strips are not uncommon
Unfortunately from time to time we see some blistering from Steri Strips on the breasts. This can happen especially if an adhesive like Benzoin or Mastisol is used to help the strips stick. Usually the culprit is traction on the upper layers of skin causing the blisters, but it can also happen from reactions to the adhesive on the strips. People with thin skin are more prone to this type of blistering. It's good that you are seeing the surgeon tomorrow. He can advise you better, but usually these things are more of a nuisance than a true cause for alarm, and they are managed conservatively. Good luck.
