Volite did not fill my lip lines. Would Voluma be a better option? Or was it that not enough was injected?

Voluma is too thick to be used in such a delicate area, and is best used for deep injections of the cheeks and jawline. I have had success treating lip lines with Juvederm Vollure as a deeper injection to the base layer and then another layer of Vollure to each individual lip line after that. Vollure, like Voluma, doesn't absorb as much water as Juvederm Ultra and therefore goes in like honey without too much swelling after. This is just one option of many for treating lip lines, but Voluma is not ideal.

Your question is a good one! While it can be difficult to say online which product its best for any singular patient, it should be noted that some products work better, or differently, than others. In this case, it seems more Volite could perhaps fill your lip lines. Alternatively, you could also consider the consistency of Juvederm. Given that Voluma is a thicker agent, it may fill your lip lines in a better way to achieve the results you were looking for.However, all of that is to say that you would still need to consult with your doctor. Juvederm could have some effects that perhaps you may not want to deal with. Whereas, adding more Volite could be just what you need. All of this should be discussed with a doctor.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and I am sorry that your results have not been what you anticipated.  It sounds as if you may require a slightly thicker filler to achieve the results you would like, with most patients needing between 1-2 syringes for their lips anyhow.  Options like Volift may lead to a better result for you.  Hope this helps.

You may want to consider a different filler before going right from Volite to Voluma. Other options are Juvederm Volbella which is specifically designed for the lips, or even Juvederm Ultra. Voluma can be used but it is a thicker filler and may give you an unnatural feel to the lips.

Volite is a great product however I rarely use it for lip lines. Voluma is generally a bit too thick for this indication although I have used it to spot treat very deep lines. If there was a picture of your lips it would make it easier to visualize the depth of the smile lines you have. I also recommend retreating within 6 months after the initial treatment as the mouth area tends to break filler down fairly quickly.

Thankyou for your question but volite is only a skin booster ( hydration) it will never give you volume.Voluma is not indicated for lips. The best option in the Juvederm range is Juvederm Ultra this is great for lip volume and is the filler of choice.if you are after volume do not have Volite again. I hope this helps

Hello. Thank you for your question. Voluma is not a great option for lip lines. It is a thicker filler. For this area you need something thinner like Vobella.

Voluma is approved for cheek augmentation; it is too thick for lip augmentation. Treating lip lines is best approached by correcting the volume loss. You might need a different filler or just need more volume to achieve the result you desire. You need to discuss your concerns with your provider so that you both can plan for best treatment options. It is totally okey not to over treat on you first treatment. A second look after the first procedure maybe necessary at times to properly evaluate and plan for optimal treatment. 

It is difficult to assess your individual results without before and after photographs. However, Juvederm Voluma is too thick a filler to be used in the lips or peri-oral area. Treating vertical lip lines usually requires adequate volume in the body of the lips first to decrease the extent of contraction of the muscle which causes the lines to form in the first place. I have seen successful case of Volite being used to treat vertical lip lines following Volift placement in the body of the lip, however if the lines are deeper, you could possibly consider Volbella. It is best to discuss your outcome and additional options with your injector.
