How do I get rid of my vertical dent between my eyebrows on my forehead?

Hi, Thank you for your question.  Typically we would recommend Botox, Xeomin or Dysport for the Glabella (the eleven lines in between the eyebrows)  because you would need to control the muscle first. Typically once those muscles are controlled those lines soften.It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full results of one of the toxins, after that if the lines are still deep then you would follow up with your board certified plastic surgeon to see what other procedures or options that could be offered to help soften the lines even more. 

Vertical dents (creases) between the eyebrows are in fact fairly common, even among younger persons. They arise from repetitive motion of the scowl (frown) line muscles between the eyes, which, after daily motion of those muscles over years, finally leaves a permanent crease in the skin. So, the way to best deal with this kind of problem is actually to address both issues. Botox, Dysport or Xeomin (so-called neuromodulators) address the underlying muscular overactivity that gave rise to it in the first place and continues to deepen it. Fillers may then be used to smooth the etched-in crease that is already formed. Combining both techniques generally leads to a longer period of benefit than can be achieved with either method used alone. And, as to whether you are too young for any of this, the short answer is when it is needed, no matter what age, is the right time for it. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician and ask to see his/her personal before after photos before agreeing to proceed. It would be easier to answer your question if we could see a photo, however Botox, a safe muscle-relaxing agent derived from Botulinum, is usually an effective solution for vertical frown lines between the eyebrows.

This can be treated with Botox. Deeper wrinkles can be improved with a combination of Botox with fillers, lasers, and microneedling/prp. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

The exact nature of treatment for that would be after looking at the area of concern but overall a combination of botox and fillers will get rid of those deep wrinkles. 

You can try medical grade topical skin care treatment that will help soften your wrinkle, PRP would be another option. However for immediate positive results I think Botox is the way to go.

Dear _unknown_,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Finding an experienced physician injector is your best bet. Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days. Thank you for your question.A photo would be helpful to give you a better answer. Botox is a good option for the lines between the brows. I would suggest consulting a PS in your area to see what your options are to help prevent the lines from getting worse.

Thank you for your question. BOTOX® is most likely going to be your best option for smoothing the appearance of the expression lines between your eyebrows and on your forehead. Some evidence suggests that BOTOX may have some preventative effects to help stave off the formation of additional lines and wrinkles in the future, so starting BOTOX sooner rather than later could be beneficial. If you still can’t decide if BOTOX might be right for you, schedule a consultation with an experienced cosmetic surgeon to discuss your goals.

Many young people have this and the best approach is to commit to Botox injections that over time will lead to resolution of this problem.  I have many patients in their early twenties that receive Botox injections every 3-4 months for the purpose of alleviating vertical lines. Over a couple of years your body will remodel the dent and the muscles causing it will weaken.  Once one reaches the goal, many patients just come once a year for Botox to assure that it won’t recur.
