I have had Botox on my frown lines in my forehead two weeks ago. I didn't have very deep lines before Botox. It has been two weeks now and I still see static lines between my eyebrows where I got the Botox. Can I still have a top up of Botox in those lines I can still see? This is the first time I have had Botox. I've previously (3 times) have had dysport and my lines have always smoothed and all lines disappeared completely, even to the point where my pores were smoothed as well.
Answer: Static lines If you have no muscle movement in the area where you have static lines then additional Botox will not have any further effect. You may consider improving the lines with filler. You can also look into microneedling, lasers, or chemical peels.

Answer: Can a "top up" of Botox be given even if no movement in frown line area? It is difficult to know why you are having different results from Dysport versus Botox on your frown lines. It would be helpful to know the dosage used and if the injection technique was different. In general, it is possible that static lines on the frown area could still improve more than 2 weeks after a Botox treatment. I would also say that if there is no movement in the frown area after treatment, that a "top up" would most likely not improve results. You might want to wait another 2 weeks to see if there is any further improvement and then follow up with the physician who treated you.

Answer: Botox for frown lines If you do not have any movement when you try to frown, additional Botox will not help. If you waited too long in between treatments, your frown lines may still soften over the next few weeks. Consider returning to your physician if you think you need additional treatment.

Answer: Botox question If you still have static lines, yet the muscles are not working, it implies that the lines are very deep and they will need a few more weeks to get smoother. In some cases when the lines are so severe they need to be treated with fillers on top of botox. Good luck for New York City

Answer: Static lines following Botox Thank you for your question. If you have no movement, then the Botox has done what it can to treat your frown lines. I cannot explain why your static lines are not as smooth with Botox as they were with Dysport. The only plausible explanation I can come up is that you may have some residual movement or recruitment of muscles that is preventing the full relaxation of the muscle complex comprising your frown. Since Dysport has a larger area of migration, it may have picked up the remaining muscle complex. I would suggest re-evaluation by your injector to see if they can visualize any remaining muscle contractions that may be contributing to your frown. I would consider switching back to Dysport with your next treatment since that work well for you in the past.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
