Hi, and thank you for your question. A silhouette thread lift is a nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedure that provides a subtle lift to your facial features with very little downtime. During this procedure, absorbable suspension threads with small, smooth bidirectional cones are implanted to lift, tighten, smooth and restore a more youthful appearance to your face. When a silhouette thread is done properly, it should have no negative affect on your smile. Consult with a qualified surgeon to have your skin evaluated and learn which options are best for you.
Great question, thanks for asking. Rosacea shouldn’t prevent you from getting injectables like fillers and BOTOX®, but it’s worth mentioning to your provider that you struggle with rosacea so you’re on the same page. He or she may also be able to help you with a customized skincare routine, if you don’t already have one, to help manage your symptoms. Many people with rosacea find that certain sunscreens cause redness. You might try a sunscreen that contains minerals like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, rather than chemical ingredients that are absorbed into the skin. Hope this helps.
Hello, and sorry to hear of your frustrating experience. On average, BOTOX® lasts 3 to 4 months before gradually wearing away, but it can last shorter or longer than that, depending on how quickly your body metabolizes the product. However, seven weeks is very short for BOTOX to last. I would check in with your provider and voice your concerns with them. Also double-check that he or she is properly trained and certified in BOTOX administration. You might consider finding a different provider for your next injections, or trying Dysport®, which is similar but may last longer for you.
This is a great question. While neither BOTOX® nor lip fillers will ever produce permanent results, you may be able to get away with spacing your treatments further and further apart the more you use them. Continued use of BOTOX may cause muscle atrophy, which may give you longer-lasting results over time. Lip fillers that contain hyaluronic acid may help to give you longer-lasting results over time by stimulating collagen production. However, scar tissue will not create a semi-permanent result. Keep in mind that you’re still combating the effects of aging that are, unfortunately, continuous over time. So even though you might be able to wait longer between treatments, you might notice more wrinkles and creases that won’t respond as well to nonsurgical options. Just something to keep in mind.
Hello, and thank you for your question. At-home laser treatments are not nearly as effective as professional machines, as there are safety concerns here. Even with a weaker device, you still run the risk of burns, hyperpigmentation and other complications when you DIY laser treatments. You will see much better and safer results with professional laser hair removal treatments.
