I am going in for a vaginal hysterectomy in November. I would also like to get a tummy tuck with lipo after. I do not want to do the 2 surgeries together. Quite frankly I am nervous about general anesthesia and do not want to be under longer than I should! How soon can I safely get a tummy tuck with lipo after my hysterectomy?
Answer: How soon after hysterectomy can I get a tummy tuck with lipo? In an uncomplicated case, you may want to wait at least 3 months before having the lipo and TT. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Los Angeles, CA

Answer: Tummy tuck after hysterectomy Dear Traynice, most plastic surgeons would recommend you to wait 3 months after a major surgery before considering another surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. You will get the best recommendations after a thorough examination.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck): Information Dear Ms. Traynice, Thank you for your information and questions. Unfortunately there is no absolute days you should wait. However common sense and the decision should be made on your recovery, your Gynecologist, your Plastic Surgeon and you. In general the range is from 6-12 weeks. I recommend that you make several consultative appointments with Plastic Surgeons who are experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition ideally they are members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery). I wish you my best and success, R. A. Hardesty, MD, FACSDiplomate and Certified by the Am. Answer: How soon after hysterectomy can I get a tummy tuck with lipo? Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patient complete properly the healing process of the previous surgery in order to have another one. It depends on each patient, most of the time is between 6 months and one year. I recommend to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss the best options for your goals. Good luck :)
