Dear Dee, It is not clear from your question if you had surgery already or you are scheduled to have one. In any event, it is critical that you follow your surgeon's post operative instruction, to avoid complications or getting sub optimal result. In my practice, my patients are not allowed to do any strenuous activity for 6 weeks. You most likely will need to take narcotic pain medications for 3-4 days after surgery, so during that period of time it will be prudent not to cook. After that period of time you can cook, however , avoid lifting anything heavier than 5-10 pounds. Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of tummy tuck in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent ans attractive with flat stomach, tight and youthful skin, nice belly button, good body posture and low scar. Best of luck, Dr Widder
